There are many moments throughout Jujutsu Kaisen that represent both the light and dark side of this anime universe. In particular, this episode combines both elements of seriousness and play. There is some slight foreshadowing regarding future arcs when the curses were sitting on the beach. The fans get the chance to not only see normalcy among the curses but also enjoy the baseball game between the two sister schools.
The baseball game that the two schools play is a great break for the viewer after all they had to see in previous episodes. Rather than stressing over the fight against the curses, they just get to worry about who is going to win or lose the sister school event's final trial.
9 Episode 2: Gojo Versus Sukuna Ignites Excitement About The Power Scaling In Jujutsu Kaisen
Gojo versus Sukuna is the first time the fans get to see a glimpse into the power scaling within the series. The introduction of characters with immense strength in this episode sets the tone for the rest of the anime. Gojo was not only having fun fighting Sukuna but was also testing Yuji's capability to be the curse's vessel.
Gojo shows off how strong he is, even compared to the strongest curse in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe. The fight is not only engaging but also shows the fans some of Gojo's personality traits. He establishes himself as a favorite to the fans and it is only the second episode.
8 Episode 15: A Simple Question That Led To An Amazing Friendship
Aoi Todo and Yuji are seemingly rivals because they are not only from opposing schools but Kyoto Jujutsu High plans to kill Yuji. The episode takes a turn and moves from killing Yuji to the start of a great friendship. One question determined the fate of this fight and it is a moment that could make anyone laugh.
All Todo had to do was find out that Yuji has the same taste in women. The question is what led to the iconic phrase, "Besto Friendo." The relationship-building in this episode is important to remember because it puts into perspective the importance of some of the side characters to the story.
7 Episode 19: Yuji Uses Black Flash For The First Time While Fighting Hanami
Although they only spent a short amount of time fighting each other, Todo was able to teach Yuji a lot about fighting with cursed energy. The skills that Yuji acquired enabled him to use black flash for the very first time against Hanami.
Black flash is not the only interesting aspect of this episode. Gojo explains that Hanami is a Special Grade curse, but is not that worried because he sees Todo and Yuji taking her on. Their teamwork is immaculate and the fans get to witness an unconventional plan that works in favor of the boys.
6 Episode 17: An Explanation Of The Rocky Relationship & Differences In Strength Of The Zenin Sisters
The fight between Maki and Mai Zenin is not only interesting because it explains the fractured relationship they have, but also the differences in their power. It is clear that Mai harbors a lot of anger towards her twin and finds that the only way to cope with her jealousy is to prove that she is stronger.
Even though Maki is unable to see cursed energy without her glasses, this episode shows that no matter what Mai does, Maki will always be stronger. The climax of the fight occurs when Maki catches one of Mai's bullets with her bare hands.
5 Episode 13: Mahito's Weaknesses Are Exposed & Yuji's Growth Becomes Apparent
Nanami and Yuji versus Mahito took the media by storm. Nanami's lack of motivation was almost non-existent during this fight and fans also get to see some character development in Yuji. The two versus one is not only exciting because it is action-packed but some of Mahito's weaknesses become apparent.
Yuji plays the role of the hero in this episode, particularly when Mahito uses his domain expansion. Nanami is trapped within this domain, but its weak exterior allowed Yuji to break through it and help Nanami continue to fight.
4 Episode 23: Megumi Shows Off His Incomplete Domain Expansion
Megumi is continuously trying to catch up to Yuji's skill and strength. In this episode, the viewers see the impact Gojo's words about living to die have on him. Although Megumi seems lost, in this fight he puts everything on the line. He shows the fans that it's okay to be proud of something that one has created, even if it is imperfect.
The most interesting part of the episode is witnessing Megumi use his domain expansion, Chimera Shadow Garden, for the first time. He breaks out of his calm demeanor and leaves his comfort zone to win this fight.
3 Episode 24: Nobara's Use Of The Hairpin Technique Speaks To Her Immense Strength
Yuji and Nobara are a dynamic duo in this fight against hybrid human curses. While Megumi was also off fighting, they engaged in the battle against Eso and Kechizu, who are siblings. Nobara shines throughout this episode and when partnered with Yuji they land black flash together on the siblings. The fight not only shows how strong Nobara is but also both characters' potential for growth.
Nobara also shows off a new technique, Hairpin, and with the snap of her fingers executes one of the brothers. Although this is the last episode it keeps the viewers wanting more and sets the stage for what is to come later.
2 Episode 20: Gojo's Skills & Techniques Are Expanded In The Jaw-Dropping Execution Of Hollow Purple
One of Gojo's techniques is shown within this episode. His limitations are unknown but the viewers get more insight into what he is truly capable of. His strength is seen the moment the fans see him levitating above everyone and everything. He knows he can end all the fighting occurring and uses different tricks to do so.
Hollow purple was the climax of this episode. The fusion of blue amplification and red reversal could have any fan at the edge of their seats. The technique also destroys or erases anything in its path.
1 Episode 7: Gojo's Face & Domain Expansion Reveal Sets The Tone For The Rest Of The Series
The fight between Gojo and Jugo was not only entertaining but shocking. Gojo's face reveal was not even the best part of the episode. His use of his domain expansion, Infinite Void, is just the tip of the iceberg regarding his capabilities, but it shows that he is able to create something out of nothing.
The fight solidifies his title as "The Strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer". The bond between Yuji and Gojo is also something that should not be overlooked. The combination of Gojo fighting but still being able to teach Yuji shows how important it is to train the next generation.
