The Jujutsu Kaisen anime does an incredible job of adapting its manga source material, but as of yet, it is an incomplete adaptation. The upcoming movie and future anime seasons will help the series catch up to the manga, but until then, manga fans will be one step ahead of anime-only fans of JJK.

Anime-only fans need to know about the Shibuya Incident arc. The moment Pseudo Geto and the Cursed Spirits seal Satoru Gojo and force-feed Yuji 10 of Sukuna's fingers is hard to forget.

9 Gojo Has Two Inherited Cursed Techniques

Gojo Satoru's Hollow Purple Attack from Jujutsu Kaisen

The anime does a fantastic job of simplifying cursed energy and cursed techniques in the first season. Gojo's visual teaching methods and on-the-job training give Yuji the chance to understand the basics of cursed energy before diving into the inherent complexity of cursed techniques.

The manga takes a bit more time to explain the power behind Gojo sensei and the infinity that envelops him. Limitless is an inherited technique that allows Gojo to completely control the space around him with his cursed energy. The six eyes can be thought of as a buff to Gojo's cursed energy stores and basic cursed energy skills. Combined, they make Gojo's Limitless technique appear to be supplied by a limitless power supply.

8 Gojo & Geto Have A History Of Friendship

The Gojo's Past arc gives fans of Jujutsu Kaisen a look into Gojo's life as a student at Tokyo Jujutsu High. Anime-only fans that have taken a liking to Satoru Gojo will be thrilled to hear that the first arc that follows the upcoming prequel movie moves the strongest jujutsu sorcerer into the role of protagonist.

Gojo leads Jujutsu Kaisen fans through a crash course on Tengen's Immortality cursed technique, Suguro Geto's personality, and Toji Fushiguro's arsenal of cursed items during the Gojo's Past arc. It's flashback season for Jujutsu Kaisen fans!

Master Tengen is responsible for creating the barriers that protect Tokyo Jujutsu High from the outside world. The barriers are not perfect, but they are resilient and ever-present. The manga goes into detail when explaining exactly how far Tengen's barrier technique's reach throughout Japan.

According to the manga chapters recently published within the Perfect Preparation arc, Tengen's barrier techniques and immortality cursed technique have made it possible for his omnipresence to merge with the entire population of Japan. Master Tengen is definitely going to be a big player in the future arcs of Jujutsu Kaisen thanks to his cursed technique and mastery of barrier techniques.

6 Yuta Okkatsu Stands In As The Overpowered MC Before Yuji Eats Sukuna's Finger

Okkatsu _ Anime OP

Anime fans have already embraced Yuji Itadori as Jujutsu Kaisen's protagonist, but when Yuta Okkatsu is introduced in the upcoming prequel movie they may start to see the world of JJK differently. Yuta is a powerful young sorcerer with higher levels of cursed energy than Satoru Gojo.

Yuta is also able to create special grade cursed spirits, copy cursed techniques, and imbue weapons with his incredibly potent cursed energy. Yuta is the definition of an overpowered MC.

5 Maki Zenin Inherits Physical Dominance From Toji Fushiguro

Jujutsu Kaisen Maki Compared To Toji in the manga

The Zenin family has gone through a long list of changes since the Deaths Painting arc that finished off the first season of the JJK anime. Megumi and Maki currently stand as the most powerful members of the Zenin clan and manga readers understand the history of the Zenin's now more than ever before.

The manga introduces Megumi's father Toji during the Gojo's Past arc before putting Maki through hell during the Shibuya Incident arc. After Maki recovers from the carnage in Shibuya, she inherits Toji's strength after a tragic sacrifice and then fights her way to the top of the Zenin Clan.

4 Gojo Shares A Story About The Strength Hidden Within The Ten Shadows Cursed Technique

Despite being powered by both the Six Eyes and Limitless Cursed Techniques, Gojo still believes that Megumi may one day surpass him in terms of combat strength. Although, even dedicated fans of the series should be skeptical of this sentiment considering Gojo's strength.

Gojo only believes that Megumi can surpass him because of the history between his family and the Zenin family. Generations ago, a Zenin who wielded the Ten Shadows Technique fought a member of the Gojo family who possessed both the Limitless and Six Eyes Cursed Techniques and both combatants died. The story doesn't spell out the fact that Megumi will surpass Gojo, but it does suggest that Megumi has only just begun his journey toward strength.

3 Sukuna Pushes The Boundaries Of Domain Expansion After Eating 15 Fingers

Sukuna has an excited expression In Jujutsu Kaisen

The Shibuya Incident arc gives viewers their first true taste of Sukuna's unbridled power. Although his duel with Gojo in the 2nd episode was entertaining, it was a relatively weak display of jujutsu sorcery.

The Sukuna fans meet after eating 10 fingers during the Shibuya Incident arc is able to set his domain over miles of land and even mimic Jogo's fire-based cursed technique. This version of Sukuna is powerful enough to defeat the Divine General Mahoraga, Megumi's most powerful shikigami.

2 After Removing Gojo Sensei With The Prison Realm, JJK Prepares For Its Tournament Arc

Megumi Fushiguro vs Ryomen Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen

Anime-only fans can and should be excited about the next few arcs being adapted for the screen. The Cursed Child arc and Gojo's Past arc are beautiful flashbacks into a world of jujutsu sorcery that isn't threatened by Ryomen Sukuna. Neither of these two arcs is a tournament arc that sees the most powerful sorcerers in Japan fight for their life.

After Gojo was sealed during the Shibuya Incident arc, Kenjaku announced The Culling Game. While Yuji, Yuta, and Megumi fight for their lives to save Japan, Gojo will have to sit on the sideline like JJK readers and patiently wait for Gege Akutami to tell the story of The Culling Game.

1 Megumi Is The Head Of The Zenin Clan

Maki Jujutsu Kaisen Megumi Zenin Family Head manga

Megumi pushes the limits of his cursed technique more than any other character in the first season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. This development continues throughout the arcs that haven't been animated as well.

If Megumi masters the Ten Shadow's technique and brings the Divine General Mahoraga under his control, he could overcome even Satoru Gojo's in combat. This power is what makes Megumi a great family head, but it is in Megumi's kind heart that the Zenin's will learn to grow out of the ashes that Maki sprinkled all over the Zenin estate.
