When the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen makes its debut, fans will find that the first season was little more than a teaser for the epic adventure that awaits Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara. As long as the anime continues to follow the manga faithfully, fans are in for a genuine treat when Gojo's Past Arc and the Shibuya Incident Arc finally make it to the screen.

The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen covered 68 manga chapters in 24 episodes. If the second season follows suit, it should be able to fit the 15 chapters of Gojo's Past Arc and the 58 Chapters of the Shibuya Incident Arc into Season 2 of the anime. To state it in simple terms, Jujutsu Kaisen fans have a lot to look forward to next season.

10 Gojo's Past Arc Gives Fans The Chance To Meet Teenage Gojo

Satoru Gojo maskless Jujutsu Kaisen

Before fans get to return to the main timeline of Jujutsu Kaisen that props Yuji Itadori up as the protagonist of the series, they first have to experience the jujutsu world through the eyes of Yuta Okkatsu and Satoru Gojo.

Before season 2 of the JJK anime debuts, fans can follow Yuta in the upcoming JJK film. After the film releases, and if the anime follows suit with the manga, fans will get to follow a teenage Satoru Gojo as he serves the world of jujutsu sorcery as a second-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High. Young Gojo may not be as powerful as the Satoru fans know and love today, but he is just as lovable.

9 Before Geto Began Terrorizing The Jujutsu World, He & Gojo Were The Strongest Together

Geto and Gojo

Before Gojo ever made the claim to be the strongest jujutsu sorcerer, he claimed strength in his friendship with Suguru Geto. The bromance established between these two characters during Gojo's Past Arc made Suguru's recent villainy heartbreaking. It is especially heartbreaking when Gojo revises his motto of strength to include Geto by saying, "We are the strongest."

8 Megumi's Dad Makes His Anime Debut

Toji Fushiguro wielding his worm and his sword in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Megumi Fushiguro is one of the most beloved new generation anime characters. His stoic personality and skill as a young jujutsu sorcerer make him easy to fall in love with, but fans won't know true anime love until they lay their eyes on Toji Fushiguro.

The original rebel of the Zenin Clan turned away from the power of jujutsu and his family by taking his wife's surname and serving as a mercenary for hire. During Gojo's past arc, Toji is hired to take down Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, two of the strongest jujutsu sorcerers alive. Luckily, Toji shows up well prepared and well equipped.

7 Along With Toji Fushiguro, New Cursed Weapons Are Introduced To Expand On The World Of JJK

Gojo vs Toji The Inverted Spear Of Heaven Jujutsu Kaisen Manga

The world of jujutsu sorcery hinges so much on the manipulation of cursed energy and cursed techniques that fans often forget the importance of cursed weapons. Maki Zenin and Yuji Itadori make good use of cursed weapons throughout the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen, but nobody swings a broadsword quite like Toji Fushiguro.

When Toji appears to take down Gojo and Geto, he carries a cursed spirit with him for the sole purpose of carrying an unmatched arsenal of cursed weapons. Amongst these weapons is a chain that has no limit to the length it can reach and an inverted spear with the ability to negate cursed energy. If fans failed to see the importance of cursed weapons in season 1, season 2 will surely correct that.

6 Before Satoru Recruited Megumi, He Faced The Wrath Of Toji Fushiguro, The Zenin Family Outcast

Toji vs Gojo Jujutsu Kaisen

After the tag team of Gojo and Geto face an army of sorcerers intent on stopping the pair from resetting Tengen's Immortality technique, they finally face their match in Toji Fushiguro. It may seem ironic that a man with no cursed energy is the only true match for Satoru Gojo, but Toji proves that even someone like him is capable of matching the strength of the two strongest jujutsu sorcerer's in Japan.

The two separate battles between Satoru and Toji are two of the best fight sequences in the JJK manga. As soon as they are animated into season 2, they may be two of the best fight sequences in the new generation of shonen anime.

5 The Shibuya Incident Breaks The World Of JJK For Better Or Worse

JJK Manga Ten Shadows Technique

The Shibuya Incident Arc is the longest-running arc in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga so far. At 58 chapters, this arc doubles the length of the manga's second-longest arc. If the length alone doesn't direct readers' attention to the epic scale of this JJK arc, perhaps the third coming of Sukuna will.

During the Shibuya Incident Arc, Psuedo Geto and his band of special grade cursed spirits launch their attack on the jujutsu world by cornering Yuji Itadori and force-feeding him 10 of Sukuna's fingers. The resulting massacre decimates the world of jujutsu and sidelines a number of characters fans have come to see as staples of the new shonen series.

4 Tengen's Immortality & Barrier Techniques Find Their Place At The Center Of The JJK Plot

Tengen switches bodies Jujutsu Kaisen Manga

The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen only name drops Master Tengen to explain the way barriers are used to protect Tokyo Jujutsu High from those who would wish to harm the world created by the big three jujutsu families. If the anime remains faithful to the manga, season 2 will dive into Tengen's character to unveil him as the cornerstone of the JJK plot.

Gojo's Past Arc takes the time to explain how Tengen's Immortality Cursed Technique works. The Shibuya Incident Arc that follows takes Satoru Gojo off the board so Noritoshi Kamo can light a spark under Tengen's barrier techniques with the Culling Games. These Culling Games have yet to make it into the manga but will make for some incredible content for the third or fourth season of the JJK anime.

3 Mechamaru Puts On An Incredible Display Of Remote Strength Against Mahito

Jujutsu Kaisen's Kokichi Muta using his Puppet Ultimate Mechamaru.

Mechamaru is easily overlooked in the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen, but few fans will forget the battle between him and Panda during the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc.

The heavenly restriction that cripples Kokichi Muta's body allows the young sorcerer to control an array of mechs throughout Japan with his immense levels of cursed energy. His battle with Panda is impressive, but it isn't until the Shibuya Incident Arc that manga fans get to see just how powerful Muta has become as a result of this heavenly restriction.

2 Fans Will Finally Get Their First Hints At Yuji's Backstory

Choso realizing that he's related to Yuji in Jujutsu Kaisen's manga.

Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen already introduced three death painting wombs, but it isn't until season 2 that Yuji is tied in with Eso, Kechizu, and Choso. The final arc of the first season stages Yuji and Nobara up against Kechizu and Eso in a battle that pushes both students into the realm of the special grade.

After defeating the two cursed wombs, Yuji invites the wrath of Choso. The third brother in the trio of cursed wombs awakened by Mahito vows to destroy Yuji until he experiences a flashback that convinces him that Yuji is one of his brothers. Though fans will likely have to wait until season 3 before meeting Yuji's parents, season 2 ties the young man to Noritoshi Kamo and the Death Painting: Cursed Wombs.

1 Every Anime Needs A Beach Scene & Season 2 Of JJK Delivers During Gojo's Past Arc

Gojo Plays with Sea Cucumber

The Gojo's Past Arc is good for more than just characterizing Satoru Gojo and introducing new cursed weapons. Roughly halfway through the arc, fans of shonen anime will get to feast their eyes on the obligatory shonen anime beach scene.

Season 1 did a fantastic job of sneaking in the obligatory shonen anime baseball scene, but not even that can compare to seeing Satoru Gojo enjoy a day at the beach.
