The Culling Game began in Chapter 143 of the manga and brought about massive changes to the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. After successfully sealing away the Jujutsu sorcerer's most powerful fighter, Satoru Gojo, Pseudo-Geto/Kenjaku inititates the Culling Game, a massive and deadly battle royale between the country's newly awakened sorcerers that is designed to optimize the amount of cursed energy generated by humanity. Jujutsu Kaisen was created by Gege Akutami and was first published in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018. The series is set in the same world as one of Akutami's earlier works, Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, which was later renamed to Jujutsu Kaisen 0 to reflect its connection to the main series. The manga recently celebrated its fourth anniversary by releasing a new trailer, which also highlights many of the characters and key events from the on-going Culling Game saga.
