The following contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen manga through Chapter 222 by Gege Akutami, John Werry and Snir Aharon, now available in English from Viz Media.

Even without an official final arc announcement, the current events of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga make it clear the series is entering its endgame. Most of the story’s plot threads are being sewn together, with hints of the remaining few being resolved in the near future. As a manga that places much emphasis on combat and the subtleties of its power system, cursed energy, it's no surprise that many fans expect several techniques that have been teased in the past to appear in the home stretch.

According to Jujutsu Kaisen lore, cursed techniques are genetic and as such, there are only a handful of characters who share similar abilities. Even in these cases, all jujutsu sorcerers manage to attach their own unique twist to them, keeping readers forever excited about the possibilities of techniques they’re already familiar with. The variety of techniques available and the slowly ticking clock have driven fan anticipation for reveals that the most popular characters still have in store. Here are the most likely to make appearances in the final arc.

Jujutsu Kaisen Is Yet to Show Gojo Satoru’s Maximum Limitless Technique

Gojo Satoru thumbs up from Jujutsu Kaisen

Gojo Satoru was introduced as the undisputed strongest character in Jujutsu Kaisen, and this boast has never been proven wrong thus far. His combination of the Gojo clan’s Limitless and Six Eyes technique is a once-in-a-generation phenomenon and grants him an understanding on cursed energy that surpasses everyone else. Although he’s not the only sorcerer to crack reverse cursed technique, Gojo is the only one who's been depicted using positive cursed energy to power his ingrained technique, giving him access to fantastic abilities that increase his combat potential.

In its neutral state, Gojo’s Limitless manifests as Infinity, a barrier that prevents anything from actually making contact with his body. He’s displayed mastery over both Blue and Red -- repelling and attracting forces respectively -- as well as his ultimate attack, Hollow Purple, a large ball of destruction incarnate. What Gojo hasn’t revealed so far is a maximum technique, which is the most powerful attack a sorcerer can conjure outside their Domain Expansion. Some notable examples of Maximum techniques include Uraume’s ability to create an entire glacier with their Ice Cursed Technique and Yuki Tsukumo’s transformation into a mini-black hole with her Mass technique. Given Gojo’s ability to control and distort space at will, his Maximum technique should be a sight to witness.

Ryomen Sukuna’s Cursed Technique Reveal

Ryomen Sukuna possessing Yuji Itadori

The iron-fisted grip that Ryomen Sukuna has on much of Jujutsu Kaisen's fandom is testament enough to how compelling a villain he is. Despite being the first antagonist introduced in the series, he’s kept every single one of his cards close to his chest, intent on shocking the audience with his actions. Nothing concrete is known about him past the fact that he was acknowledged as the most fearsome sorcerer in history. Despite participating in several battles (and emerging victorious every time), his original cursed technique is still a black box.

Sukuna has displayed a variety of abilities and attacks, an unparalleled mastery over reverse cursed technique, and Cleave and Dismantle which slash through every object almost without fail. Most surprisingly, he’s shown an affinity for flame-based attacks and was adept enough to outmatch the Jogo, a cursed spirit that manifested from humanity’s fear of volcanoes. Although Sukuna has never needed to so far, his current battle with Gojo might force him to use every available strategy to secure a win. Whatever his technique is, the easiest way for him to amplify its effect mid-battle is to take advantage of the “revealing one’s hand” binding vow. Doing so would force him to explain it in-depth for the benefit of both Gojo and the audience.

Megumi Fushiguro’s Final Ten Shadows Shikigami

Jujutsu Kaisen Fushiguro Fights Sukuna

Megumi Fushiguro enjoyed the great fortune of inheriting the Zenin clan’s trademark and most coveted cursed technique. Even without fully mastering his cursed technique, the Ten Shadows has allowed Megumi to challenge opponents ranging from Reggie Star -- a psychopathic reincarnated sorcerer who was previously dominating the Culling Game -- to a Special Grade Cursed Spirit that housed one of Sukuna’s fingers. All this he achieved while still being a Jujutsu High first-year. Megumi managed to find diverse applications for his cursed technique including storing weapons inside his shadow, teleportation over a short distance, and mastering simultaneous activation of multiple shikigami -- but the Ten Shadows still contained secrets Fushiguro couldn’t access yet.

While the Ten Shadows technique was still in Megumi’s hands, he managed to conquer seven of the eventual ten shikigami that would eventually fall under his control. In Sukuna’s hands, two new shikigami have been revealed: the Round Deer, which activates reverse cursed technique for its owner, and the Piercing Ox, which charges opponents with incredible force that increases the longer it travels in a straight line. Sukuna brought the number of shikigami Megumi could control up to nine. He may have already subdued the tenth and final shikigami, and could be waiting for the perfect opportunity to unleash it.

Jujutsu Kaisen's Last Arc Will Surely Have a Battle Between Refined Domain Expansions

Jujutsu Kaisen's Mahito Watching Itadori Break His Domain Expansion

As the pinnacle of jujutsu sorcery, it makes sense that Domain Expansions have been few and far between in Jujutsu Kaisen. Not every sorcerer has access to this ultimate ability, and the few who do only use them as a last resort. Domains drain an incredible amount of cursed energy to cast and maintain since the sorcerer involved literally forces a new space that is entirely under their control into reality. After doing so, they are typically unable to activate their cursed technique for a period of time afterward.

Yuta Okkotsu, Ryu Ishigoro and Takako Uro already depicted the deadlock that would occur if three Domains were simultaneously cast. Gojo Satoru easily obliterated Jogo’s Coffin of the Iron Mountain Domain that was unrefined in comparison to his Unlimited Void, but what happens when two Domains of equal caliber clash? Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine was described as a divine art due to his ability to cast it without first creating a separate space. If Sukuna does cast it, Gojo will probably have no choice but to open his own Domain in retaliation, hopefully settling the most pressing question related to jujutsu sorcery’s zenith technique.
