It seems only fitting that the pretty boy from Jujutsu Kaisen's Gojo transports himself into a Studio Ghibli work that features another pretty boy.Fan artist ooreonii drew Satoru Gojo, the eccentric teacher at the Tokyo Jujutsu High, into Howl's Moving Castle, with the jujutsu sorcerer taking the role of Howl: an appropriate choice as both characters are famous for their attractive looks. The artist used an original character to substitute for Sophie. In the artist's rendition, Gojo has a softer and slightly rounder look typical of Ghibli animation while ensuring they highlight his dazzling blue eyes. The fan also included an illustration with Gojo's Six Eyes covered.RELATED: Jujutsu Kaisen Dialogue Cut From English Release Revealed by Translator

Both Series Have Magical Elements

Gege Akutami's dark fantasy manga series Jujutsu Kaisen began serializing in Weekly Shōnen Jump in March 2018. Shrouded in mystery, nobody knows who Gege Akutami really is as the mangaka uses a pen name, preferring to maintain their privacy. Akutami cited Tite Kubo, the creator of Bleach, as one of their influences as they started their career as a manga artist. Jujutsu Kaisen originally began as a four-chapter series called Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, running from April to July 2017.

In the last few hours before his grandfather's death, Yuji Itadori, the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen receives two key messages that he will never forget: save as many people as he can and make sure he's surrounded by other people when he dies. One night, Yuji and his friends at the Occult Club accidentally attract Curses and a jujutsu sorcerer named Megumi Fushiguro to their school. To protect them, Yuji swallows a rotten finger belonging to a powerful Curse named Ryomen Sukuna, becoming Sukuna's host. While he manages to save his friends, he is now sentenced to death as the jujutsu sorcerers cannot allow Sukuna's host to live. However, at the suggestion of Gojo, the sorcerers suspend Yuji's death until they find all of Sukuna's fingers which will allow the sorcerers to kill the Curse once and for all.

Ghibli's adaptation of Diana Wynne Jones's 1986 book Howl's Moving Castle is very different from the original book. The Ghibli version focuses on love and the horrors of war. Howl's Moving Castle follows a young milliner named Sophie, who transforms into an old woman after meeting the Witch of the Waste. Sophie becomes Howl's cleaning lady after she makes a deal with a magic fire demon named Calcifer to help break each other's respective curses. On the outside, Howl is easygoing and almost frivolous. But Sophie soon discovers that the wizard has been fighting both sides to prevent the war from worsening.

Howl's Moving Castle is part of a huge Ghibli library streaming on HBO Max. The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen is available on Crunchyroll. Season 2 will premiere in 2023.
