There is no sorcerer we've met in Jujutsu Kaisen who is as devastatingly powerful as Satoru Gojo. With charming confidence that borders on flagrant arrogance, Gojo silences any doubts that his assurance in his abilities is unwarranted. While we've already seen an intense display of Gojo's technique against the Cursed Spirit Jougo, the attack we see him execute in Episode 20 is far more destructive.
Mahito and Getou's group of Cursed Spirits have been wreaking havoc on Jujutsu Tech, but they've also telegraphed their fear of Gojo very clearly. With a veil created for the sole purpose of keeping only Gojo out -- and their ongoing plan to trap him in the Prison Realm -- the Curses can only succeed when they hold the powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer at bay. Thankfully, Itadori and Todo make a fearsome duo and can hold Hanami off until Gojo's arrival.
Itadori & Todo's Seemless Teamwork
Satoru Gojo doesn't need anyone else to prove how intimidating his power is. However, the ease at which he can dispatch enemies against who other strong characters have been struggling only further demonstrates his unique talents. It's almost unfair that Gojo overshadowed Itadori and Todo's impressive display against Hanami. The new best friend duo combined their fighting styles with a nonchalance that gives the impression they've trained together for years.
Aoi Todo's Boogie Woogie Technique allows him to swap the locations of any two people or objects -- as long as they have Cursed Energy -- by clapping his hands. Despite Itadori having met Todo just hours earlier, the immediate bond they form sees them dancing around Hanami. As Itadori, Todo and Hanami continuously swap places by Todo's command, the two sorcerers pummel the Cursed Spirit. Their teamwork is capped off by Itadori's unprecedented use of four consecutive Black Flash attacks.
Even with Itadori and Todo's dominance, Hanami can hold his own, but only long enough for Gojo to successfully destroy the veil that had previously kept him out.
Gojo's Hollow Purple Technique
When Gojo took down the veil, all of the Cursed Spirits had the same thought: time to leave. However, the Jujutsu Sorcerer had other plans as he instantaneously teleports to Principal Gakuganji and, within a moment, crushes the arms and legs of Juuzou -- a Curse User working with Mahito. Then, without needing Hanami to be in his line of sight, Gojo unveils his Hollow Purple Technique, which he fires directly at the Cursed Spirit. A path of destruction is opened up between Gojo and Hanami after Hollow Purple obliterates anything between them.
Hollow Purple combines Gojo's other two techniques -- Amplification: Blue and Reversal: Red -- and virtually erases everything in its path. The basis of Gojo's power is his frightening Limitless Cursed Technique, which allows him to attract and repel things with his "Blue" and "Red," respectively. By combining those effects, Hollow Purple has devastating possibilities -- and it's unclear whether Hanami survived the blast.
The Danger of Satoru Gojo
The potential of Gojo's Limitless creates an almost insurmountable rift between the Jujutsu Sorcerers and the Curses who look to face them. Even the Jujutsu communities elders find Gojo frustrating because he often disapproves and challenges their archaic, conservative leadership style. Gojo's main intention is to reshape Jujutsu society with the new generation of sorcerers and improve flawed beliefs.
However, while Gojo brought the Cursed Spirits' invasion of Jujutsu Tech to a decisive conclusion, Mahito was still successful in retrieving the Cursed Objects they came for in the first place. Considering that there is a traitor in the school, it's clear that all the students -- and Gojo -- need to be careful. With Curses and potentially other Jujutsu Sorcerers aiming to take Gojo out of the picture, everyone needs to be prepared for the power shift that would cause.
