The Jujutsu Kaisen anime has pulled millions of fans into Gege Akutami's manga world of the same name. Akutami brilliantly blends the horror and shonen genres into a series that is equal parts terrifying and exciting.

The fearless Satoru Gojo is one of the most well-known characters from Jujutsu Kaisen who possesses both adorable and scary attributes, but he is not the only one. Friendly characters like Yuji might not be scaring anyone, but others are so creepy that they could join the ranks of the creepiest anime characters of all time.

10 Yuta Okkotsu's Relationship With Rika Is Frightening, But He Himself Is A Big Sweetheart

Yuta Okkotsu and Rika Orimoto in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Yuta Okkotsu has not made his anime debut yet, but with the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 0 film, fans are thirsty for more information on the boy with unlimited cursed energy. Satoru Gojo opened his arms to Yuta because he was able to sense an incredible amount of cursed energy coursing through the young man's body. When Satoru introduced Yuta to his classmates at Tokyo Jujutsu High, Yuta's peers were so creeped out that they deemed the sweet young boy a threat. Luckily, Yuta's kindness far exceeds Rika's creepiness.

9 Todo Has An Unhealthy Obsession With Women

Aoi Todo from Jujutsu Kaisen.

The muscular third year at Kyoto's Jujutsu High School isn't creepy in the same way that most of JJK's cast is creepy. Instead of scaring fans with his murderous habit or overpowered abilities, Todo creeps fans out by obsessing over the idea of women.

The moment he threatened Megumi because of his "boring" taste in women, it became clear that this obsession was not a healthy one. Todo is unable to recognize the value of compassion in a woman after years of obsessing over them, which makes his behavior hard to see as anything other than creepy.

8 Master Tengen's Character Design & Immortality Make Him One Of The Creepiest Human Characters In JJK

Jujutsu Kaisen's powerful Master Tengen, also known as the Star

Master Tengen is only name-dropped in the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen, but manga readers know more about Tengen's role behind the scenes of JJK and his immortality cursed technique.

If the second season follows the manga faithfully, fans will soon learn of Tengen's immortality and the Star Plasma Vessel. The Star Plasma ritual ties Tengen in with the Occult and comes off as more than just a bit creepy when it is revealed whose body Tengen will be stealing.

7 Eso & Kechizu Work Together To Prove That Some Curses Are Caring Enough To Earn Sympathy

Jujutsu Kaisen Eso

The two special grade cursed wombs that attack Yuji and Nobara at the end of JJK's first season go by the names Eso and Kechizu. The cursed brothers are two of the creepiest-looking characters introduced in the first season, but they at least earned some sympathy from fans.

After Yuji punches a hole through Eso, he takes a moment to mourn the death of the two living and breathing curses. Watching the protagonist mourn the death of Eso and his younger brother Kechizu creates sympathy and dispels some of their creepiness.

6 Gojo's Overwhelming Perfection Must Be A Cover For Something Sinister

Gojo Targets Hanami's Weak spot JJK manga

Though Gojo appears to be a perfect character with absolutely no weaknesses, fans are beginning to question whether his perfection is too good to be true. Manga readers have come to terms with a world of jujutsu where Satoru Gojo is no longer there to protect the weak. The dark and bleak world that Megumi and Yuji now fight through has pushed viewers to question Gojo's actions more than ever before.

Anime-only fans may not have reason to question Satoru just yet, but they have surely caught on to the hidden layers of Satoru's personality. The strongest jujutsu sorcerer may seem perfect on the surface but his boyish personality is like a mask. Whatever his true intentions are, it's unsettling that Gojo chooses to hide them behind a mask of immaturity.

5 Finger-Bearing Special Grades Embody The Creepiness Of Cursed Spirits

Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro getting spooked by the Finger Bearer in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Each and every cursed spirit that makes it into the Jujutsu Kaisen anime is creepy with their amorphous bodies and strange noises. At the top of the cursed spirit totem pole, before approaching the power level of Jogo and Mahito, are the cursed spirits that have come into possession of Sukuna's fingers. After adding part of Sukuna's cursed energy to their own, these cursed spirits are shown to bask in their newfound glory. To put it plainly, the combination of their appearance and power makes these finger-bearing cursed spirits all the more frightening than the average curse.

4 Hanami's Backwards Language Is Enough To Creep Out Even Dedicated JJK Fans

Hanami holding Jogo's dismembered head in Jujutsu Kaisen.

The special grade cursed spirit that attacks Megumi and Maki during the Kyoto Goodwill Exchange Event goes by the name Hanami. Of course, viewers would never know this just by listening to them speak because Hanami speaks Japanese backwards.

Like any creepy haunted tape or classic cursed melody, Hanami is a cursed spirit that adds to its creepiness with audio cues. Hanami's character design and cursed technique are terrifying, but it gets even creepier when paired with the warped sound of the Japanese language played in reverse.

3 Principal Gakuganji Has A Fixation On Murder In Season 1

Yoshinobu Gakuganji from Jujutsu Kaisen holding his guitar.

Although there is plenty of creepy competition in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Principal Gakuganji manages to keep up with his sunken eyes and murderous intentions. The old man avoids any and all expressions of emotion except those that come with his fear of Itadori Yuji. It should come as no surprise when Gojo speaks ill of the higher-ups, considering that fans have only gotten the chance to see this group of outdated sorcerers represented by the creepy face of Gakuganji.

2 Sukuna Has A Fascination With Violence & Fixation On Megumi

Sukuna looks crazed when first taking over Yuji

The King of Curses spends the majority of his time in Jujutsu Kaisen resting on his throne within Yuji Itadori's body, but that doesn't mean he is inactive. During the first season, Sukuna dismantles Yuji's hold on him with a binding vow and spends the rest of his time toying with the boy's heart.

The binding vow Sukuna makes with Yuji allows the King of Curses to steal control of Yuji's body whenever he sees fit. The fact that he has not yet taken advantage of this power is terrifying and adds to the suspense.

1 The Special Grade Cursed Spirit's Playful Obsession With The Human Body Proves That Mahito Is Creepy To The Core

Mahito's Domain Expansion Jujutsu Kaisen

Mahito borrows from Hunter X Hunter's Hisoka Marow by making his obsession with violence come off as nothing more than a giddy school boy's playful behavior. As he contorts the hearts and minds of the human beings he makes contact with, Mahito wears a genuine smile to prove that he enjoys toying with humanity.

To make it even worse, Mahito keeps a collection of twisted human bodies underground as a test of his cursed technique. He then goes as far as letting Junpei tour his creepy collection before turning the troubled young man into another one of his toys.
