The following article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 185 "Bye Bye," by Gege Akutami, John Werry and Snir Aharon, available in English from Viz Media.

Hajime Kashimo is one of the Culling Game players that Yuji and his allies have been wary of from the beginning. They assumed this player must be incredibly strong, considering they have at least one hundred points. The plan was for Hakari to fight them, since he's the strongest among the Tokyo Colony group. However, they had no idea that they would all be randomly split up as soon as they entered the barrier.

Panda's role in their plan was to find and negotiate with Hana Kurusu, the sorcerer who has wings and a halo, similar to an angel. Unfortunately, things didn't go to plan, leading to Panda finding the terrifying Kashimo instead. Initially, Panda intended to pretend to be an actual panda to avoid fighting Kashimo. He might've succeeded if Kashimo didn't ask their Kogane if Panda's a player in the Culling Game. Thus, a completely one-sided fight ensues.

Kashimo with destroyed Panda in Jujutsu Kaisen

Up until now, Yuji and his allies have managed to defeat their respective opponents in one way or another, but Panda never stood a chance. He even tried using his sister's form -- which fans have never seen before -- as opposed to his brother's gorilla form. It made no difference to Kashimo. Panda found it impossible to defend himself against his opponent due to their Cursed Energy being akin to a current of electricity. In other words, they're in a state of constant electrification. Moreover, Kashimo's Cursed Energy allows him to use attacks that can't miss, without needing to cast a domain.

Interestingly, Kashimo is determined to find Sukuna, and kept questioning Panda about his whereabouts. Panda, not wanting to make Yuji a target, refused to give anything away. Kashimo could sense he was hiding something, though. It's unclear what Kashimo wants with Sukuna, but it seems safe to assume it's a fight. Kashimo is a reincarnated sorcerer from the past, so the two may have known each other, or may have even fought before.

The fight concludes with Panda's entire body, except for his head, completely destroyed. Luckily, Panda is still alive for now. This is possible because Panda had three cores: his brother, his sister, and himself. Each of these cores were located at different areas throughout his body. The panda core is found in his head, so as long as his head isn't destroyed, he can survive. His siblings' cores are certainly destroyed, however.

Panda and Gorilla crying in Jujutsu Kaisen

Most of Chapter 185 serves to show what Panda's relationships with his siblings are like. Although presented like a flashback, in actuality, it's happening in Panda's innate domain, much like how Sukuna and Yuji can meet in the former's innate domain. His sister has the form of a triceratops, and she's very protective of him, even against their brother who has the form of a gorilla. Gorilla is the type of sibling to ignore and pick on his little brother, despite the latter's eagerness to spend time with him.

It's revealed how deeply Gorilla cares for Panda when they find out he and their sister can no longer stay with him. This, of course, is because their cores are being destroyed in the real world. The siblings all breakdown emotionally, with Gorilla crying out for Panda as they're being dragged away, because he knows how much Panda needs them. It's at this point the chapter switches back to reality and shows that Kashimo has destroyed Panda's body. Kashimo is still trying to get information about Sukuna, but Panda maintains his refusal to reveal anything.

Just as Kashimo is about to finish Panda off, Hakari arrives on the scene in an epic blaze of Cursed Energy. Kashimo is visibly surprised and excited for what's sure to be an exciting fight. Panda, on the other hand, is happy his life could be spared at the very last minute. It will be interesting to see how the loss of his siblings changes him going forward.
