Justice League writer Scott Snyder dropped some pretty massive news recently when he announced that he, James Tynion IV and Jorge Jimenez are bringing the Justice Society of America back to the DC Universe.

The fan-favorite super-team was effectively erased from the timeline at the onset of the New 52 reboot. Save for a few appearances in Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's currently-running Doomsday Clock, the JSA hasn't been seen in years.

That's all set to change with the arrival of Justice League #31 and 32 later this year. The JSA will return in these issues, yes, but their adventures won't stop there. After the news broke, Snyder teased his plans for the Justice Society, and revealed that he has a lot in store for the team beyond a quick guest appearance.

"Regarding the JSA, I'm not just bringing them back in JL (tho they are reintroduced & play a big role in JUSTICE DOOM WAR, starting in August)," Snyder wrote on Twitter. "I have much bigger plans for them. This is a team I’ve been waiting to write for a long time-its origins, 1st missions... More TBA soon."
