Cyborg actor Ray Fisher claimed Joss Whedon told him people "didn't get" Avengers: Age of Ultron when the pair worked together on Justice League. In an interview posted to Twitter, Fisher said Whedon brought "a lot of his personal and professional, for lack of a better term, resentment into the Justice League process." He went on to add, "One of the things [Whedon] had said in our first conversation was that people didn't 'get' Age of Ultron... There were certain things that were being said in that conversation where I was like... this is less about the work being presented and more sort of an ego stroke to say 'Well, look, if you like it in this movie, you should've liked it in that one, haha, joke's on you'... That just, creatively, that has nothing to do with the other really egregious stuff, that's just creative level."Related: First MCU Scarlet Witch Costume Concept was Extremely Comics-Accurate

Over the summer, Fisher made allegations of abuse against Whedon and producers Jon Berg and Geoff Johns during the reshoots for the theatrical version of Justice League. WarnerMedia has since concluded an official investigation of Fisher's allegations and revealed that "remedial action" has been taken. It did not reveal what those actions were or who was disciplined, but Fisher's Justice League costar Gal Gadot testified in the investigation, saying, "They’ve done a very thorough investigation, even just by how much time I spent with them."

Released in 2015, Age of Ultron was the sequel to Whedon's original Avengers movie, which was both a critical and commercial smash-hit. Age of Ultron grossed $1.4 billion at the global box office and received more mixed-to-positive reviews than the first Avengers film, with the critical consensus on Rotten Tomatoes describing it as an "overstuffed but mostly satisfying" followup. However, Whedon has claimed his creative differences with Marvel Studios got "really unpleasant" on Age of Ultron and he stepped away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after finishing the movie.
