Joshua Hale Fialkov's The Bunker in Development as TV Series

Joshua Hale Fialkov and Joe Infurnari's Oni Press comic The Bunker will head to NBC as a television series.

According to Deadline, the deal was set up by Julie Anne Robinson's CannyLads production. This revives the project after it didn't make it into production following Fialkov and artist Joe Infurnari selling it to Lionsgate TV, where Sam Raimi and Rob Tappert were once attached to produce. Now, Fialkov will write and executive produce the project.

The Bunker, which ran for 19 issues, focuses on a group of friends who come across a hidden bunker in the woods containing evidence that they will be responsible for a global apocalypse. It weaves an emotional tale along the lines of The Walking Dead, with the members plotting their personal maps to the future as they decide if they can give up their hopes and dreams in order to save the world.

The book was first launched as a digital-only series before its rabid fanbase saw it end up at Oni Press.
