If rumors are to be believed, the heroes of the Marvel Studios universe are about to earn some mean-spirited nicknames as Avengers News reports that Lost actor Josh Holloway is in talks "to play a 'lead' role in an upcoming Marvel film."

According to the report, Holloway — whose involvement isn't a one hundred percent certainty, Avengers News claims — could snag a role in The Avengers as Hank Pym, Hawkeye or possibly even Dum Dum Dugan. The first two picks make sense to me, though Dugan is quite the stretch. He seems better suited for Holloway's Lost co-star Jeff Fahey to me.

While the Holloway rumor is far from confirmed, I would love to see the actor get his chance to shine in a big budget comic book film, whether it's as one of these aforementioned heroes or someone else entirely. Once upon a time, Holloway was very close to playing Gambit in an "X-Men" film, and while those days are over, there's nothing stopping the erstwhile Lost con man from changing his stripes and slipping on some tights.

What say you, Spinoff readers? Would you want to see Holloway in a superhero film and who would you want him to play?
