Avengers: Endgame star Josh Brolin is well-known for playing the villain Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the Mad Titan isn't the only Marvel character the veteran actor has stepped into the shoes of. In Deadpool 2, Brolin joined 20th Century Fox's X-Men universe as the time-travelling mutant Cable.

While speaking at ACE Comic Con in Seattle, Brolin was asked about the possibility of reprising his role as Cable in a Marvel Studios production, which would add the former Goonies star to the list of actors who have had dual roles in the MCU. In response, the actor confirmed he has been in touch with Marvel on the matter.

"Wait, Disney bought Fox?!" Brolin joked. "I don't know what's going to happen. I'm actually... I've been calling them, like, 'What's the deal with Cable, man?' Seriously, 100 percent serious. They're figuring it out. It's a big world now, it just got much, much bigger. So who knows?"

Following Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox, the future of the X-Men franchise at large remains up in the air, and it is unclear when exactly the mutants will be integrated into the MCU. However, it was previously confirmed that Disney planned to continue the Deadpool film series. That said, it appears Brolin currently does not know if Cable will appear in the MCU, though, not for a lack of trying.
