Though Thanos and the Collector don't have a great relationship in Avengers: Infinity War, it seemed to be all smiles on set.
Thanos actor Josh Brolin posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Infinity War on Instagram featuring Benicio del Toro as the Collector. Brolin is wearing his motion capture suit, while del Toro is wearing his character's costume and make-up. In his post, Brolin joked, "On the set of Sicario, er, wait. No, I think it was another film."
Sicario was a 2015 film starring del Toro, Brolin and Emily Blunt. The film was directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Taylor Sheridan. It went on to receive Academy Award nominations for Best Cinematography, Best Original Score and Best Sound Editing. Brolin and del Toro also starred in the film's 2018 sequel, Sicario: Day of the Soldado.
Del Toro first appeared as the Collector in 2013's Thor: The Dark World during that movie's mid-credits scene. Brolin first appeared as Thanos in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film and has played the Mad Titan since.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.
