F9: The Fast Saga stars Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris continued to call for an all-women Fast & Furious movie spinoff to happen.

"The girls need a spinoff. That's who needs a spinoff. All of the badass, kickass women that are in this film. That's who deserves it," said Ludacris, speaking in an interview with SiriusXM. "I agree," added Gibson. "That would be awesome. I've heard those rumors... Yeah, I think that would be incredible," said Brewster.

The Fast Saga star/producer Vin Diesel teased the idea of an all-women spinoff in Feb. 2020, stating "I have created a female spinoff. That script comes in next month, so we will see." However, there haven't been any official updates on the topic since then.

"Think about all the people we could bring back, right?" said Brewster, listing 2 Fast 2 Furious star Eva Mendes along with F9 costars Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Nathalie Emmanuel, Anna Sawai, Michelle Rodriguez and, of course, herself. "It would be really, really cool," she added, before admitting she "can't speak" to whether there are proper discussions happening about such a spinoff.

Right now, the official plan is to close out the main Fast & Furious movies with two more films after F9. In addition, producer Hiram Garcia previously confirmed a sequel to the 2019 spinoff Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is being written.

With the all-women spinoff up in the air, Rodriguez claimed F9 will put the franchise's women in the driver's seat, in both a literal and figurative sense.

"My heart warmed when I saw that there was actually not one single bit of resistance against the idea of bringing the [women] of the franchise into the forefront," said Rodriguez, speaking in a recent interview. "[Director] Justin Lin was super on board with it. Vin was super on board with it. He's always been supportive of strong women. And the studio hired an amazing writer to come on board and touch up all of the female characters."

Directed by Justin Lin, F9 stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell and Charlize Theron. The film arrives in theaters June 25.
