Jonathan Majors opened up about filming on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and how his experience, and character, differ from his previous work on Loki.

"I felt pretty loose and free on the Loki set! The MCU and all the powers-that-be are just so open-hearted," Majors told GamesRadar+ while promoting his new film, The Harder They Fall. Majors then went on to discuss how Kang, the villain he's playing in the new Ant-Man film, and He Who Remains, the big bad behind Loki Season 1, are different.

"The character is different so you move a different way; my psychology has shifted because of the character. He’s just a different guy," Majors continued. "He Who Remains is not in Ant-Man. It’s Kang. But the people surrounding us – the cast, my leading man, Paul Rudd – that’s different. Because Paul’s not Tom [Hiddleston]. This is a movie, not a TV show. I’ve been here since the beginning and I came in at the end on Loki."

Little is known about how much the movie will connect to Majors' time on Loki, but the season finale of the Disney+ series already teased Kang as the villain of Season 2. All signs point to Kang -- and likely some of his variants -- as the new overarching foe of Phase Four of the MCU, but how exactly his schemes will connect to the Quantum Realm is still unknown.

What is known is that all involved continue to be blown away by Majors as an actor. The performer received heaps of praise for his work in the Loki season finale, and Ant-Man 3 star Paul Rudd recently spoke about how enamored he is with Majors' work on the film so far.

"I’ve loved everything he’s done, and I see what he’s doing in this, and I’m knocked out by it," Rudd said. "It is really fun to bring new people into the fold, and the enthusiasm that people have is palpable."

Like the mystery of Kang, the plot of Ant-Man 3 remains shrouded in secrecy. A new Quantumania logo, however, seems to tease what many fans have theorized about for years: that the Quantum Realm is home to its own society. If true, it could be how Kang enters the story of the size-changing heroes.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania lands in theaters July 28, 2023.
