Jonathan Majors consumed an insane amount of food each day while getting jacked for roles in Creed III and more.

Following the Sundance Film Festival premiere of his new (similarly physique-requiring) movie Magazine Dreams, Majors spoke to Variety about the dietary demands of his intense training regimen. It seems that the extra muscle he packed on for that film and the upcoming Rocky spinoff threequel required an astounding amount of fuel. "I'm 6 feet tall. I'm 202 pounds. In order to sustain that and to grow that you have to eat as much protein that you weigh," he explained. "I ate 6,100 calories a day for about four months. That included the pre-work and the post-work of Creed III."

Jonathan Majors' Massive Low-Carb Diet

Likewise, Majors put as much physical training into his performance as Magazine Dreams' Killian Maddox as a traditional bodybuilder would at the gym. "What ended up happening is I would train two hours, two times a day for the movie and a third time after wrap," he continued. "Meanwhile, you eat six times a day. Lots of chicken. Lots of elk. That's just for me. I like it."

Alongside Creed III and Magazine Dreams, Majors followed a similar dietary regiment for his role as Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania villain Kang the Conqueror, which meant "working out, three times a day. And you've got to eat seven meals a day." The diet also forced Majors to give up carbohydrates for two years straight, including french fries, which the actor really missed eating during production.

In Creed III, Majors plays Damian "Dame" Anderson, an old friend of Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) who, after being released from prison, challenges Adonis to a public boxing match. To promote the sports drama last October, Jordan Tweeted official character posters of his and Majors' equally ripped physiques, with the Creed III trailer dropping a few days later. On working with Jordan, Majors praised his skills as an actor and filmmaker -- since Creed III marks Jordan's directorial debut -- describing their relationship post-Creed as best friends.

An official release date for Magazine Dreams after Sundance has not been announced yet. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Creed III, meanwhile, will drop in February and March, with the former marking Majors' second Marvel Cinematic Universe credit, having played the Kang variant "He Who Remains" in the Disney+ series Loki. Recent Quantumania trailers provided a closer look at the iconic Marvel villain's appearance, implying this Kang to be a prisoner of the Quantum Realm, shown wearing the character's green and purple uniform and a comic-accurate helmet. Kang is also expected to be the MCU's next central antagonist, with director Destin Daniel Cretton's Phase 6 movie, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, borrowing its title from Marvel's 2001 comic of the same name.

Creed III releases in theaters March 3, 2023.
