The world of mutants in the Marvel Universe is about to change forever with the upcoming House of X and Powers of X, which will present two intertwining narratives that both lead into a complete overhaul of the X-Men line.

In a quick-fire question session with Marvel, Hickman revealed several other interesting details about the series, among them being the number of mutants fans can expect to see. "About 92, I think was what we counted on." When asked about villainous mutants, Hickman said, "About 91."

This may seem like an overwhelming number of characters, especially for those who might not be too familiar with any of the X-comics. Thankfully, Hickman also revealed readers don't need to be too familiar with any of them for House of X and Powers of X. When asked about which comics readers should pick up before House of X, Hickman said, "Nothing! You don't have to read anything before House of X."

The X-Men writer has said in the past that the two converging storylines are something he's been planning for years. One of them will deal with a world-changing month in the lives of the X-Men while the other will deal with their history throughout the Marvel Universe.
