Jonah Hill is in talks to join Matt Reeves' upcoming Batman solo flick, The Batman.
According to The Wrap, Hill may be playing The Penguin opposite Robert Pattinson's Batman. For months, rumors have circulated that The Penguin would be Reeves' choice of villain, with this new rumor only adding fuel to the fire.
The Penguin made his first appearance in Detective Comics #58 and is one of Batman's most notorious villains. Danny DeVito portrayed the character in 1992's Batman Returns. On television, the character has been played by Burgess Meredith and Robin Lord Taylor.
Pattinson was cast as the new Batman in late May, following Ben Affleck's departure from the role. While some were happy with the casting announcement, others were displeased and even started petitions to get Pattinson removed from the role. While it has yet to be officially confirmed, it seems that The Batman will stand alone and not be a part of the DC Extended Universe. DC's upcoming Joker will follow suit and also not connect to the other films .
Starring Robert Pattinson, The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves, who will also produce alongside Dylan Clark. While casting is still underway, the film is scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021.
