Although the big-screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street doesn't arrive in theaters for another two weeks, co-writer and star Jonah Hill revealed work has already begun on the follow-up.
"We got [the greenlight] by the studio to start writing the sequel," he told E! Online on Sunday's Oscars red carpet. By "we" we assume he's referring to Michael Bacall, who co-wrote Jump Street as well as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Hill went on to say the following about the upcoming flick: "It's punk rock. It's total mayhem. It's two young-looking cops going to back to high school and they party with high school kids and go crazy. I'd say it's the funniest movie I've ever been in—that and Superbad. It's like a two-hour or hour-and-a-half party."
21 Jump Street, which also stars Channing Tatum, opens March 16.
