Joker continues its global box office domination by setting a new impressive record, less than a month into its theatrical release.

The WarnerMedia film has now surpassed both the original 2016 Deadpool and Deadpool 2 to become the highest-earning R-rated film of all time. The film's combined global box office earnings currently stand at $788.3 million, with $258.6 million earned domestically.

The 2016 Deadpool had earned $782.6 million while its 2018 sequel earned $785 million worldwide -- including over $40 million earned globally from its PG-13 re-edited re-release at the end of the year.

Joker was made on a reported production budget of $55-70 million, not counting marketing and distribution costs. With critics and audiences praising Joaquin Phoenix's performance as the titular villain, the film has been a runaway success for Warner as it continues to do big business three weeks into its theatrical release and showing no serious signs of slowing down in the immediate future.
