One of the Joker's most defining characteristics is his evil, cackling laugh and Joaquin Phoenix's version of the laugh may been revealed from the set of Todd Phillips' Joker origin film.

A leaked set video posted to a fan account on Instagram shows a stealth video recorded with Phoenix's maniacal laugh allegedly recorded. While it is unknown if the video and audio are indeed from the set of the upcoming villain-centric film, the laugh certainly fits the character.

The film wrapped principal photography this past December in Brooklyn, doubling as an 80s vision of Gotham City. While no official trailers have been released from the film, leaked photos and videos from the set show Phoenix's version of the DC Comics villain sporting a painted facial design similar to Heath Ledger's in 2008's The Dark Knight.

And if the alleged creepy laugh is genuinely from the film, Phoenix's Clown Prince of Crime may be one of the most sinister incarnations of the character to date.
