A new Joker set photo teases the possibility of Thomas Wayne running for mayor.A picture of a campaign poster, which was reportedly snagged on the set of the currently in-production film, seems to confirm reports that this portrayal of Thomas Wayne will have political ambitions, potentially deviating from the charitable doctor and business owner seen in many other incarnations of the character.RELATED: Joker Set Photo Gives First Look At Zazie Beetz's Character

Of note is the misspelling on the poster, which claims Thomas "Wanye" is running for mayor. It’s unknown if this was an error by the art department, an indication the poster is inauthentic or a purposeful mistake that will play some part in the film. It's possible the spelling error will relate in some way to the Joker, played in the film by Joaquin Phoenix.

Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) was initially cast in the role, but he stepped away in August, citing scheduling conflicts. Brett Cullen (The Shallows) was cast in the role as filming began in earnest.
