Joaquin Phoenix's Clown Prince of Crime flees from Gotham City police in the latest photos from the New York City set of Todd Phillips' Joker.Published by JustJared, photos captured on Sunday depict Phoenix running through the Bronx as Gotham detectives, played by Shea Wigham and Bill Camp, give chase. The "dangerous stunt" teased in the tweet's headline is, of course, performed by Phoenix's double as the Joker is struck by a taxi.

The police chase and taxi collision aren't the only photos, as there's a full gallery from the Bronx shoot. One image show Phoenix as the Joker smoking a cigarette, giving the camera his best sinister smile. A later photo depicts Phoenix with the cigarette in his mouth while waving to someone off-camera.

In another photo, the two detectives seem to be right on the Joker's tail, and the Joker can be seen reaching into the pocket of his red suit, perhaps pulling out a weapon to help him escape. One of the next photos in the gallery shows Wigham and Camp seated on the trunk of an unmarked police cruiser, drinking coffee, likely capturing the events shortly before the Joker was spotted. There is also a shot of the Joker in normal street clothes and no face paint, as he walks along a row of homeless folks under a bridge.

Directed and co-written by Todd Phillips, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix as the titular character along with Robert De Niro, Marc Maron, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen and Bill Camp. It is scheduled to be released on Oct. 4, 2019.
