DC Reveals First Look at Joker: Killer Smile #2

DC has revealed a first look at December's Joker: Killer Smile #2, an issue that promises to turn the story on its head.

DC Comics has officially revealed a first look at Joker: Killer Smile #2 -- the second chapter in the Clown Prince of Crime's three-part Black Label title from writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino.

Killer Smile #2 revisits Arkham Asylum psychotherapist Dr. Ben Arnell, who promised his wife and child one thing: no matter how dark his work gets, he will never bring the madness that comes from associating with the Joker home and allow it to tear his family apart.

Unfortunately, it appears that was a promise he couldn't keep. DC promises Killer Smile #2 will kick this tale of the Joker's destructive influence into high gear. And that the issue "turns the entire story on its head, with disastrous consequences for Dr. Arnell."

Notably, the preview pages provided by DC (which feature colors by Jordie Bellaire) see the good doctor in a rather tough position, being moved to anger and, eventually, tears -- making it clear the infamous villain is driving him to the edge. Meanwhile, the Joker himself can only laugh.

The preview pages also offer a guest appearances by a few familiar faces including the Joker's arch-nemesis Batman and fellow Arkham Asylum inmate Killer Croc. Moreover, DC has not only offered a look at Sorrentino's man cover, but also Kaare Andrews' variant -- which features the Clown Prince of Crime alongside Harley Quinn, Penguin, Two-Face and Bane. Finally, the Burbank-based publisher has provided a sneak peek at the cover for Joker: Killer Smile #3.
