Joker star Joaquin Phoenix was arrested alongside hundreds of other protesters, including Martin Sheen, at a Washington D.C. climate change rally led by actor Jane Fonda.

Phoenix's presence at the protest paralleled the sentiments he emphasized at the Golden Globe Awards. "Sometimes we wonder what we can do in this fight against climate change," Phoenix said to his fellow actors. "There is something that you can do today and tomorrow, by making a choice about what you consume. There are things I can't avoid. I flew a plane here today, or last night rather, but one thing I can do is change my eating habits."
