This summer, DC Comics' new solo series starring the Joker will tell the story of the infamous villain's very first night in Arkham Asylum.

The Joker #5 is slated to hit comic shops on Tuesday, July 13. The 40-page issue comes from writers James Tynion IV and Matthew Rosenberg alongside artist Francesco Francavilla. "The never-before-seen tale of The Joker's first night in Arkham Asylum is finally revealed!" its official synopsis reads. "When a lunatic in a clown suit tries to poison Gotham City's reservoir and is placed in Arkham Asylum before his trial, Detective Jim Gordon realizes something's different about this new inmate that could forever change the future of Gotham."

The issue also features a backup story starring Punchline, which comes from writers Tynion and Sam Johns alongside artist Sweeney Boo. The Joker #5 also features a main cover by Guillem March, as well as variant covers by Kaare Andrews, Sean Phillips and Riccardo Federici.
