DC Comics has released the upcoming cover of Batgirl #47, which will tie into the next Batman arc, "Joker War."
The issue will be written by Cecil Castellucci, with art from Robbi Rodriguez. The cover for the issue, which will hit shelves May 27, was designed by Giuseppe Camuncoli.
Batman, which is now being handled by James Tynion IV after Tom King finished his run, will kickstart "Joker War" with issue #93 following the conclusion of “Their Dark Designs.” The issue is expected to go on sale on April 15.
"Joker War" was already teased back in Batman #85 and Batman #86, which saw Joker killing members of his own gang and destroying his headquarters in preparation for the conflict to come. The event will impact the entire Batman family, with Detective Comics also getting a crossover issue.
Cecil Castellucci took over Batgirl with issue #37 this past summer during Year of the Villain from Mairghread Scott. She has also written Shade, The Changing Girl and Female Furies.
