While Stanley "Artgerm" Lau might be one of the most in-demand artists in comics, he still takes the time to participate in  Inktober, the annual month-long daily drawing challenge that's popular on social media. Like many Inktober participants, Law created his own original prompts for the challenge. To celebrate the release of director Todd Phillips' Joker, Lau offered his take on Joaquin Phoenix's cinematic Clown Prince of Crime. While Lau said that he had not seen the film yet, he offered a more comic book-inspired take on Arthur Fleck in his distinctly manga-influenced style.RELATED: Joker: [SPOILER] May Be More Psychologically Broken than Arthur Fleck

While Lau has offered his take on other Gotham City mainstays like Harley Quinn and Catwoman before, he gives this Joker a distinctly deranged look which reflects Fleck's haphazardly applied costume makeup.

With a neon green outline lime-colored laughter cascading out of his mouth, the Joker has a striking, eerie oversized smile. Even if his faced wasn't fixed in a permanent grin, he'd still have a good reason to smile since the film is off to a record-breaking start at the box office and has already earned solid critical acclaim, despite the controversies surrounding it.

Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais and Shea Whigham and is in theaters now.
