DC Comics is continuing its line of anniversary specials with a new 100-page one-shot starring Batman's archenemy himself, the Joker.

The Joker 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1 is slated to go on sale this April. The 100-page Prestige format comic celebrates "eight decades of chaos, mischief and mayhem" by collecting an "original lineup of tales by comics' most celebrated storytellers.

Already confirmed to be a part of the Clown Prince of Crime's 80th anniversary special are the likes of Brian Azzarello, Lee Bermejo, Paul Dini, Denny O’Neil, Scott Snyder, Tom Taylor, Jock, José Luis García-López, Mikel Janín, James Tynion IV and Riley Rossmo, with other still to be announced. The stories told will apparently be varied to represent the different eras of the Joker, ranging from "terror to humor to outright anarchy." The character -- originally created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson -- first appeared in April 1940's Batman #1.

Similar in Nature to Action Comics #1000, Detective Comics #1000, Wonder Woman #750 and the recently-announced Catwoman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1, The Joker special will also feature a collection of decade-themed variant covers from various artists. There will be a 1940s variant by Arthur Adams, a '50s variant by David Finch, a '60s variant by Francesco Mattina, a '70s variant by Jim Lee and Scott Williams, an '80s variant by Bill Sienkiewicz, a '90s variant by Gabriele Dell'Otto, a 2000s variant by Lee Bermejo and a '10s variant by Jock.
