Set photos from Joker: Folie à Deux show Joaquin Phoenix in an outfit resembling Dwight Schrute from The Office.

Dwight Schrute famously dressed up as Heath Ledger's Joker in Season 5, Episode 6 of The Office, "Employee Transfer." Now, Phoenix's Clown Prince of Crime is returning the favor, sporting a Schrute-style suit in new set photos for Joker: Folie à Deux. Reddit user Aneriox shared the images on r/DCEUleaks, which show Phoenix's disheveled Arthur Fleck in a dirtied suit resembling Dwight Schrute's usual brown suit and yellow dress shirt combo.

The outfit also shares aesthetic similarities to the ensemble Bruce Wayne typically wore in Batman: The Animated Series. The first photo sees Fleck walking down a Gotham City sidewalk, complete with smeared clown makeup. The next shows Fleck squatting against a taxi with sunglasses on as he smokes a cigarette.

These are the latest photos to leak from the set of Folie à Deux, which is now filming in New York and New Jersey. Most recently, set photos revealed the first look at Lady Gaga's costume for Harley Quinn, complete with the classic black, white, and red color scheme. Additionally, a series of photos and videos from a New York City set potentially teased the inclusion of another Joker in the film.

Additional set photos may have spoiled the introduction of another key Batman villain: Harvey Dent. These images feature protestors outside a Gotham courthouse holding signs that read "Free Joker" and "Dent Is A Clown," indicating the character's inclusion in the movie. The Gotham District Attorney's last big-screen appearance was in another Joker-centric film, 2008's The Dark Knight, played by Aaron Eckhart.

Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios are keeping plot details surrounding Folie à Deux a secret for now, though the film is said to be a musical largely set inside Arkham Asylum. Details from set photos of Gaga also suggest that Harley Quinn will be an Arkham patient with romantic ties to the Joker, as is traditional for the character. More leaked videos suggest there may be an assault on Arkham that leads to Fleck's escape from the institution.

Joining Phoenix and Gaga onscreen is Zazie Beetz, who reprises her role as Sophie Dumond for Folie à Deux. Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland and Harry Lawtey are also attached to the project in undisclosed roles, though Lofland is said to be playing another Arkham patient. Like the first film, Phillips is producing and directing from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver. In January, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn confirmed that Folie à Deux and Matt Reeves' The Batman 2 will continue their respective franchises under the DC Elseworlds banner, which exists outside the continuity of the mainline DC Universe.

Joker: Folie à Deux arrives in theaters on Oct. 4, 2024.
