Stardust Crusaders is the series of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure that introduces the concept of Stands. DIO still serves as the main antagonist of the series, but many side villains give the Stardust Crusaders a tough time on their journey to Egypt.

With the introduction of Stands, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure becomes even stranger. The Stands come in all shapes and sizes and have varying abilities. The fights are more intense and the characters are even more bizarre. There are many great, exciting, and sometimes even heartbreaking episodes of Stardust Crusaders that deserve a rewatch.

10 Tower Of Gray Rips Apart A Plane Full Of People

In "Tower of Gray," the Stardust Crusaders have boarded a plane and begin their adventure to find DIO. Suddenly they are awakened by the sound of a flying stag beetle, which turns out to be a Stand from a nearby user.

The Stand creates complete chaos on the plane, ripping apart passengers and moving faster than can be detected. Kakyoin uses his Stand, Hierophant Green, to rip Tower of Gray apart, which injures its user, Gray Fly. After the disastrous plane ride, the group has to find another way to Egypt.

9 Silver Chariot Introduces Fans To Jean Pierre Polnareff

In "Silver Chariot," the Crusaders encounter a man named Jean Pierre Polnareff and his Stand, Silver Chariot. Like Kakyoin, Polnareff has been implanted with one of DIO's flesh buds and is being controlled by it.

The episode includes a battle between Polnareff's Silver Chariot and Muhammed Avdol's Magician's Red. After the battle, Polnareff's flesh bud is removed and he decides to join the Crusaders to avenge his sister and to help defeat DIO.

8 Emperor And Hanged Man, Part 2 Shows The Clever Defeat Of J. Geil

In part 2 of Polnareff and Kakyoin's showdown against J. Geil and his Stand, Hanged Man, the Crusaders finally learn the trick to the enemy's Stand. Hanged Man is a light Stand that moves from one reflective surface to another.

Polnareff and Kakyoin find themselves surrounded by a group of beggars, and Hanged Man jumps into the eye of one of them, trapping the Crusaders. However, quick-thinking Kakyoin pulls out a coin and forces Hanged Man to jump toward its reflection, and when he does, Silver Chariot slices him up.

7 God Anubis, Part 2 Sees Polnareff And Jotaro In A Battle Against Each Other

Anubis is a unique Stand that the Crusaders encounter in Egypt. Unlike other Stands, Anubis does not have a single owner and can possess anyone who wields it. Much to the dismay of the Crusaders, Polnareff gets possessed by Anubis.

Wielding the possessed sword, Polnareff fights against Jotaro. Although Jotaro loses the swordfight, with the help of Iggy, they successfully toss the deadly sword into the Nile where it will hopefully be lost forever.

6 D'Arby The Gambler, Part 2 Shows Jotaro At Peak Coolness

Daniel J. D'Arby is a highly capable gambler who tricks the Crusaders into playing a game with him for information on DIO's whereabouts. Using tricks and cheating, D'Arby captures the souls of the players who lose against him.

Polnareff and Joseph both lose their souls to D'Arby. Jotaro, the last one to play against D'Arby, catches him cheating and uses Star Platinum to break D'Arby's fingers, forcing him to play a fair game. Jotaro bets all the Crusaders' souls and even his mom's soul on the game, and then hilariously bluffs D'Arby and wins the game, saving everyone.

5 The Mist Of Emptiness, Vanilla Ice, Part 1 Ends The Very Funny Video Game Contest

Telence D. D'Arby is the second soul-stealing D'Arby brother the Crusaders encounter. Upon entering DIO's mansion in Egypt, Telence greets the Crusaders then forces them into playing video games with him so he can steal their souls.

In the second part of the two-part episode, Kakyoin loses his soul playing against D'Arby. When it's Jotaro's turn to play, he acts very aloof and unsure of how to even play the video game. D'Arby gets so frazzled by Jotaro that he releases Kakyoin before discovering that Jotaro is cheating with the help of Joseph and Hermit Purple.

4 The Mist Of Emptiness, Vanilla Ice, Part 3 Is When Iggy Sacrifices Himself

It wouldn't be JoJo's Bizarre Adventure without a beloved character dying. Part 3 of "The Mist of Emptiness" sees the battle between Polnareff, Iggy, and Vanilla Ice drawing to a close. Iggy is severely wounded having been beaten nearly to death by Vanilla Ice.

Polnareff is injured as well, and it seems the two Crusaders will fall at the hands of one of DIO's most powerful subjects. However, Iggy uses the last of his strength to save Polnareff. Polnareff then exposes the sun and Vanilla Ice, being a vampire, burns up.

3 DIO's World Part 2 Is Where Kakyoin Figures Out The World's True Power

The showdown with DIO is underway. The Crusaders split up to try and ambush DIO. While Polnareff and Jotaro are hidden away, DIO pursues Joseph and Kakyoin through the streets and rooftops of Cairo.

Using Hierophant Green, Kakyoin lays a trap for DIO to try and discover The World's true power. Before he even realizes it, DIO punches a hole through Kakyoin with The World. As he's dying, Kakyoin realizes the Stand's true power and sends a warning to Joseph.

2 DIO's World Part 3 Is The Drawn Out Battle Between Jotaro And DIO

Jotaro and DIO finally meet for the final battle. Kakyoin is dead, Joseph is severely injured, and Polnareff is missing in action. DIO uses his time-stopping ability against Jotaro but notices that Jotaro can slightly move his finger during the time stop.

Sometime before time stopped, Jotaro planted magnets on DIO and himself to give the illusion that the magnets were causing the movement of his finger. The trick works on DIO who approaches Jotaro, allowing him to use Star Platinum to punch through him.

1 The Faraway Journey, Farewell Friends Is The Finale Episode

The journey ends when DIO is defeated

The battle between DIO and Jotaro continues. DIO lands near Joseph and sucks all of his blood to heal himself, killing Joseph. Things are not looking good for the Crusaders, and DIO has only grown stronger and enhanced the length of his time-stopping ability during the battle.

However, at the last second, Jotaro unlocks his time-stopping ability and finally defeats DIO. Jotaro revives Joseph, and eventually DIO's body disintegrates as the sun rises. DIO's death also breaks the curse on Holy, bringing their journey to an end. The Crusaders part ways and head home.
