In the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure universe, there is a common precedent that intelligence beats power. Although many of the Stands are somewhat equal in strength, the skill of a user in harnessing their abilities to the best of their potential makes all the difference between victory and defeat.

However, some characters are so overwhelmingly powerful that they can simply obliterate their enemies regardless of what careful plans were made to thwart them. By identifying the instances where such a phenomenon has occurred, we can better appreciate the merits of a direct approach.

10 Narancia Overwhelmed Formaggio With Little Bomber

Golden wind fight

Narancia encountered La Squadra member Formaggio after being separated from his team. The criminal's presence was noticed a moment too late, as he had already begun to shrink the hero by the time he thought to react.

Despite Formaggio's ability to hide within crevices and hitch a ride on the backs of rats, Narancia was simply able to use the power of his "Little Bomber" Stand in order to locate him and shoot him down. This provided an extremely direct approach to an otherwise elusive and intelligent adversary.

9 Jotaro Defeated Anubis By Utilizing His Own Durability

Anubis controlled the minds of his users - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders

Anubis was an absurdly powerful villain because he grew exponentially faster the longer he was able to fight. With Polnareff as a host, he was soon able to reach speeds that Jotaro could not match.

Jotaro's solution to this problem was stunningly simple - he intentionally allowed the rogue Stand to strike him in the chest, banking on the fact that his abs would be too hard to impale outright. After the blade was lodged inside the hero, he used Star Platinum to reduce it to a broken hilt.

8 Okuyasu Defeated Akira By Punching Him In The Face

Although Akira's Stand was defeated by Josuke when he was sealed in rubber and launched into the lake, he still managed to stow away on Joseph Joestar's boat and prepared to kill him.

Fortunately, Okuyasu was nearby to apprehend the man. The problem was that he had disguised himself as a Speedwagon Foundation crewmember. The hero's response was charmingly straightforward - he punched Akira in the face out of sheer intuition, willing to knock both potential suspects unconscious in order to keep Joseph safe. To everyone's relief, his first guess was successful.

7 Jotaro Powered Through Forever's Plans To Kidnap The Crusaders

Star platinum vs strength

When Jotaro and the Crusaders boarded Forever's "Strength" Stand, they soon found themselves ensnared and entombed by the ship itself. None of the heroes' Stands were powerful enough to liberate themselves from their restraints - except Star Platinum.

Once free, Jotaro immediately rampaged through the ship in order to find its sinister primate captain, smashing apart whatever feeble barricades were placed to obstruct his path. When Forever was finally discovered, his ape-like strength would not save him from the beatdown yet to come. Despite his elaborate planning to ensure his victims came on board his vessel, the materials comprising the ship could not hold Jotaro even momentarily.

6 Jotaro Muscled His Way Through High Priestess' Stone Tomb

Forever was not the only villain that Jotaro defeated through the merits of muscle alone. After escaping a submarine that Midler's "High Priestess" Stand had overrun, she infected a massive bedrock and entombed the Crusaders inside her mouth.

However, she failed to anticipate Star Platinum's strength. Shortly after the heroes were swallowed, Jotaro smashed through her teeth and swam to freedom, subsequently maiming the Stand user they found unconscious on the beach.

5 D'arby Used His Stand To Overcome Kakyoin's Superior Skill

D'arby versus Kakyoin in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

When D'arby challenged Kakyoin to a video game, the two were evenly matched. However, the latter's childhood of gaming granted him an edge in skill, and he soon began to surpass his villainous rival in their race against one another.

However, D'arby was able to use his Stand in order to predict whether or not Kakyoin would risk a costly move and reacted accordingly. Consequently, he used his special abilities to dominate what should have been a game of wits and turn his opponent into his most recent puppet.

4 Josuke Defeated Rohan By Pummeling Him In A Fit Of Blind Rage

Josuke defeats Rohan

When Josuke arrived to liberate Koichi from Rohan, the manga artist wouldn't go down without a fight. Prudently, he used Heaven's Door to probe Koichi's mind for Josuke's one weakness - insults regarding his hair.

He expected to capitalize on Josuke's aggression by showing him his artwork, thereby rendering him under his sway. However, the hero was so gripped by blind rage that he simply ignored the illustration as he beat his tormentor's head in.

3 When Narancia Caught Up With Tiziano & Squalo, Their Teamwork Couldn't Save Them

Tiziano and Squalo had excellent teamwork and nearly managed to assassinate Narancia. The "Clash" Stand attacked the young hero while "Talking Head" prevented him from crying for help.

When Narancia finally caught up with them, the villains presumed that they could shield themselves by hiding amongst nearby civilians, therefore limiting Little Bomber's ability to fire at them. However, such a ruse was unsuccessful when the Stand was piloted into Squalo's chest directly - much to his partner's shock and horror.

2 DIO's Stand Rendered Kakyoin's Preparations Irrelevant

Dio vs kakyoin

Kakyoin had prepared to kill DIO by dispersing Hierophant Green's strands over a large radius and using them to hurl several dozen volleys of Emerald Splash in his direction. Although this would have proven fatal against most adversaries, the World's time-stopping ability rendered it obsolete.

Moreover, it allowed the vampire to navigate across the battlefield and calmly punch a hole through his heroic adversary's chest. Still, Kakyoin was able to identify and convey the nature of DIO's abilities to his friends with a dying gesture, using his Stand to attack a clock tower.

1 No Matter How Prepared He Was, Bucciarati Stood No Chance Against Diavolo

Main villain diavlo golden wind

When Bucciarati came to return Trish to her father, he soon discovered the man's intentions to kill her. He came prepared for such a twisted development and used his "Zipper Man" to the best of his ability in order to unravel his malevolent former master.

However, Diavolo's "King Crimson" was so powerful that it was able to perceive and edit time itself. Consequently, Bucciarati was dealt a death blow, with little to show for his courage and chivalry. Nonetheless, the heroes were able to recover Trish, even if the price for her salvation would only be recognized later.
