Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and My Hero Academia both involve people using powerful abilities to succeed in battle or to just get ahead in life. Jojo features Stands, which are essentially spiritual beings that attach themselves to a person or part of a person and have certain powers that they can use offensively, defensively, or to create conditions for things they’re trying to accomplish.

My Hero Academia, on the other hand, has Quirks, which are essentially superpowers that many of the characters in the world are born with that they can use to either become heroes or in some other aspect of their daily lives. Both Stands and Quirks have stronger and weaker levels which have different amounts of effectiveness in battle. Here are five Stands that are stronger than Quirks and five Quirks that could outperform Stands.

10 Stand: Star Platinum

Jotaro's Star Platinum Stand Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Star Platinum is one of the strongest Stands in Jojo, and it’s also one of the most straightforward ones. It’s great at combat because it has all of the right elements for being good at it. These include being physically strong, incredibly durable so that it doesn’t really take damage, and super fast so that it can both outmaneuver and evade opponents. There are few Quirks that would be a difficult match against a Stand this powerful.

9 Quirk: One For All

Deku and All Might Detroit Smash - My Hero Academia.

One For All is probably as close to an exact equivalent for Star Platinum as there could be. It’s an ability that makes its user incredibly physically powerful so that they’re pretty tough competition for anyone in battle. What’s more, the Quirk can be passed on to other people, which means that it is possible, as with Deku and All Might, for two people to possess the power of the Quirk at once; the combined effort of these two would no doubt make it very hard for most Stands to overpower.

8 Stand: Killer Queen

Killer Queen in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Killer Queen has the ability to turn any object, including living objects, into explosives. All it has to do is touch one.

This would be a really hard Stand to face, since it would have the advantage of making it impossible to get in close for close-range combat, considering someone wouldn’t want it to touch them, and also because it doesn’t actually have to be that close to cause a lot of damage.

7 Quirk: Overhaul

Overhaul is the Quirk of Kai Chisaki. He can use it to take apart any matter with his bare hands, and it’s done pretty much instantly. It doesn’t matter whether or not the object is living or dead. He can then either leave it disassembled, which would of course kill a person, or can reassemble it as the same object or as something totally new. This would be a very dangerous Quirk for a Stand to face off against.

6 Stand: Notorious B.I.G.

Notorious BIG in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Notorious B.I.G. is the only Stand that triggers after its user is dead, where most Stands disappear once their user dies. This makes it incredibly dangerous, since there’s no easy way to kill it. It also gets larger and stronger the longer it’s activated by collecting matter and adding it to its mass. Even taking it apart wouldn’t succeed in destroying it, since it’s able to put itself back together.

5 Quirk: Rewind

Rewind, Eri’s Quirk, is able to turn someone back in time, essentially, to an earlier version of themselves. The most dangerous thing about this is that she can take someone back to a time before their Quirk manifests, so they’re left powerless.

This would be a very dangerous Quirk for a Stand to have to fight against, since she could potentially use the same power on the Stand’s user, resetting them to a time before they activated their Stand.

4 Stand: Gold Experience Requiem

Giorno Giovanna and Gold Experience Requiem in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind.

Gold Experience Requiem has an ability not unlike Rewind. It is able to reset things to “zero,” which essentially means that it can take an object or a person back to the moment right before it began. This ability, combined with its speed and strength, give it an almost undefeatable quality. In fact, after it kills someone in battle, the person’s death resets to zero over and over again, essentially making it so that the person has to re-experience their death for eternity.

3 Quirk: All For One

all for one

All For One is the opposite of One For All in that, instead of giving the Quirk to someone, All For One is able to take other people’s Quirks away from them. This would make for a very difficult opponent for anyone using a Stand, which has limited abilities. In contrast, All For One has limitless potential for abilities since he can take any Quirk he wants off of just about anyone else (excluding, of course, One For All).

2 Stand: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is able to move between dimensions and to take Valentine, his user, with him. This allows Valentine to use portals to move around during battles and to pull other people into dimensions with him, immobilizing them in their own word.

Valentine can also pull other versions of himself into his main dimension, such as when he is injured, so that he can recover while hiding in a pocket dimension. The inability to actually harm or kill Valentine in a way that would end the battle for good is a very difficult skill to overcome.

1 Quirk: Black Hole

Thirteen in My Hero Academia.

Black Hole actually gives Thirteen the ability to create actual black holes from her fingertips. This is a super-powerful and incredibly dangerous skill to have. Thirteen has to control it very carefully and to use the gravitational force in order to just draw people toward her before shutting it off; otherwise she could potentially drag people directly into the black hole and kill them without meaning to. A person whose ability means that someone could get trapped in what’s essentially a gravitational tractor beam would definitely make anyone, even Stands, a potential victim.
