Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is one of the weirdest and most engaging action-packed tales of all time. This is largely because, after Battle Tendency, most of the fights in Jojo are centered around the power of "Stands."

Only parts one through five have been animated, but there are eight parts in all when it comes to the manga. We'll be talking about some pretty plot-heavy stuff from the later parts of the franchise in this article, so be wary of spoilers, anime-only fans. With that out of the way, then, let's take a look at some of the most absurdly powerful Stands in the JBA franchise.

Update June 9th, 2020 by Louis Kemner: A good battle shonen series needs a cool combat system, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has a staggering variety of stands for its fight scenes. Some are silly, some are bizarre, and some are simply devastating. When it comes to ranking them by power, this means setting aside the gimmick stands and focusing on those that can tear apart the user's enemies with ease, and some stands clearly rise to the top. Let's review five more stands that can win practically any battle.

15 Bucciaratti's Stand: Sticky Fingers/Zipper Man

This humanoid stand clashed with Giorno and Gold Experience early on, until Bruno and Giorno became allies. Sticky Fingers certainly proved its worth, and has done so with every battle since.

It can create zipper portals, take Bruno apart (such as to hide from Beach Boy), split people apart with zippers, and deliver hard-hitting melee attacks. Sticky Fingers may not have the same muscle power as Star Platinum or The World, but it has a flexible and creative ability for sure.

14 Rohan's Stand: Heaven's Door

Heaven's Door does not typically deal damage, but if used correctly, it doesn't even have to. Its user is Rohan Kishibe, a talented manga artist who would rather conduct research than beat people up.

If Heaven's Door can get close enough to the target, it can open their face like a book and write anything in there, and make it a reality. Often, Rohan will modify a person's behavior to make them stop attacking him, or even make them do something for him.

13 J. Geil's Stand: Hanged Man

For a while, it seemed like nothing could stop the Hanged Man, the assassin stand of the vile J. Geil (son of Enya). Hanged Man is one of the tarot card stands, and it manifests in reflective surfaces, such as mirrors or even people's eyes.

The Hanged Man can strike from anywhere at light speed, and it is nearly impossible to outrun, since reflective surfaces are everywhere. Once it gets close enough, it can deliver a deadly knife attack to finish the fight.

12 Vanilla Stand: Ice's Cream

Vanilla Ice

This stand somewhat resembles a skeleton wearing an executioner's hood, and the user, Vanilla Ice, tends to stay inside his stand while using it. Cream can deliver devastating melee attacks, but more often, it employs an all-devouring void attack.

Cream can rove quickly around the battlefield in a void state, being nearly impossible to detect. Then, it can charge right at the enemy, and if anything is in the way, Cream can devour that, too. Nothing can block this stand for long.

11 Yoshikage Kira's Stand: Killer Queen/Deadly Queen

killer queen jojo

This humanoid stand resembles a combination of Mewtwo and a cat, but it is far scarier than either. It can turn any object (even a person) into an explosive device, and set it off by miming the use of a detonator.

That's not all. Yoshikage Kira can also use a secondary stand ability, Heart Attack, as a remote offensive weapon. Finally, after the stand arrow does its work, Killer Queen can also set explosive, time-reversing traps with Bites the Dust. It was a miracle Josuke ever defeated this stand.

10  Cioccolata's Stand: Green Day/Green Tea

First and foremost, here's a Stand from Part 5: Vento Aureo. It's called Green Day/Green Tea and is controlled by Cioccolata. This Stand is truly one of the most horrifying to date. Essentially, the user becomes the "center" of an outbreak of mold that tears through the human body once it descends in altitude.

It's never clearly explained, but it seems like Cioccolata's location determines the "altitude" from which the mold starts attacking. It's not a great one-on-one stand, but its controller is able to menace a populated area with its powers. Cioccolata also uses it to close wounds, which seems like a nice added bonus.

9 Blackmore's Stand: Catch The Rainbow

Catch The Rainbow might be the single most unique Stand in all of JBA. Unfortunately, this unique Stand isn't seen until Part 7: Steel Ball Run. Basically, when it's raining, CTR is in control. It freezes the raindrops in place, and they become unmovable spheres of pain and death to anyone but its user, Blackmore.

What this means is that if someone walked through the rain after it froze, they'd be riddled with holes. Additionally, Blackmore can fuse with rain in order to relocate his body parts individually between drops. He can even use the raindrops as footholds to essentially fly. Unfortunately, he can't make it rain, which is the biggest drawback.

8 Carne's Stand: Notorious B.I.G/Notorious Chase

Notorious BIG in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Next, we have a Golden Wind Stand that has always been a bit underrated. Notorious B.I.G/Chase is the Stand owned by a man called "Carne" who we meet only briefly. It's a Stand that seems to have a will/life of its own, entirely based on the hate that Carne held when alive.

This Stand seems to be indestructible, and without a user, is also most likely immortal. The only downside is that Chase has a pretty obvious dependency on movement, and can be countered in a myriad of ways. Basically, all moving objects are its enemy, not anything in particular, and that's a major problem.

7 Okuyasu Nijimura's Stand: The Hand

The Hand is obviously an overpowered Stand, but its user Okayasu lacks the ability to use it to its true potential. This is a trend in Jojo, where incredibly strong abilities are given to those who don't utilize them. The Hand has the ability to destroy all matter in anything its hand swipes at. That includes space, air, and even reality.

If Okayasu studied a bit more, he'd be one of the most terrifying Stand users who could've solved most of the problems in Diamond Is Unbreakable entirely on his own. Instead, we got this loveable yet air-headed delinquent scamp, so maybe it's not all bad.

6 Josuke Higashikata's Stand: Crazy Diamond/Shining Diamond

Next, we have the protagonist from Diamond Is Unbreakable. This is Josuke Higashikata's Stand and it's a real doozy. Readers might think that it has the ability to heal anything it touches, but that's not quite true. Its actual ability is restoring anything to a previous state of being through touch.

Though it's primarily used for healing, Josuke also uses it to fuse things/people together, trap enemies, travel on a piece of a broken object mid-restoration, and potentially even make people younger. Who knows? One thing's for sure, its abilities are just vague enough to be exceedingly strong.

5 Dio Brando/Jotaro Kujo's Stands: The World And Star Platinum

Crazy Diamond also has around the same strength and speed as the next two Stands in this list, Star Platinum and The World. These Stands are owned by Jotaro Kujo and Dio Brando respectively and they're essentially the same Stand on a base level.

Both of them are the hardest-hitting, fastest, most reactive Stands out there. But, they also have the extra property of being able to stop time. Dio, being a vampire, can actually move within the frozen time for about nine seconds at his peak, while Jotaro could only ever reach a max of five.

4 Diavolo/Doppio's Stand: King Crimson/Emperor Crimson And Epitaph/Eulogy

Via: Zerochan.net (KotNarKot)

Ah, it's the prodigal how does it work? Stand of the Jojo series, King Crimson. This innately angry-looking Stand is owned by Diavolo/Doppio, boss of the Italian Gang Passione. King Crimson is also technically two Stands in one, much the same way Diavolo and Doppio share the same body. It's that combination of King Crimson and Epitaph that make Diavolo so terrifying.

It's hard to explain, which is why this Stand is so well-known, but imagine if Dio could see into the future right before he stops time. Oh, and once he messed around in the frozen time, his enemy would unfreeze and still do everything they were going to do originally. Confusing, but powerful.

3 Enrico Pucci's Stand: A Multi-Tiered Stand So Strong, It Was Probably Made In Heaven

Made in Heaven in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

What's better than one absurdly strong Stand? Three Stands, of course! Enrico Pucci, the villain of Part 6: Stone Ocean somehow managed to nab three throughout the story. First, it was White Snake, A physically strong close-range Stand that could "write" properties onto discs.

Then there was C-Moon, A combination of White Snake and Green Baby that is able to make Pucci the center of planet, essentially. This meant pulling everything towards him within 3 kilometers. Finally, there's Made In Heaven, which basically speeds up time exponentially until everything resets in a brand new universe, with the same victorious Pucci in it.

2 Funny Valentine's Stand: D4C And Love Train

Funny Valentine is an American Hero and a true patriot, okay? His Stand power is, like most Jojo antagonist's, frankly absurd. It's called Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (or D4C) and it's about to get multi-dimensional up in here.

Basically, Valentine can hop between the multi-verse by being between any two objects, such as a door and a wall. Using this, he can trap half of someone in one universe, bring multiple clones of himself into the same world, escape damage at any time by passing his Stand and memories on to other versions of himself, and even hide in a pocket dimension and avoid damage entirely. It's truly one of the broadest and most creative Stand powers out there.

1 Giorno Giovanna's Stand: Gold Experience Requiem/Golden Wind Requiem

Via: Zerochan.net (KotNarKot)

Gold Experience Requiem, the be-all-end-all Stand. Requiems are such an overpowered concept that after Golden Wind, author Hirohiko Araki never touched it again. Now, the normal Gold Experience has the ability to give life to inanimate objects. But, GER is on another level. It's faster, stronger, and gives life to objects quicker.

With its ability, any action that's about to be taken against GER --whether on contact or in its field of vision-- is nullified, or reversed. So, literally nothing can be done to this Stand. It can even create death loops for truly awful criminals, causing them to die, reset, then die on loop for eternity.
