The long-running hit manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is just that: the adventures and battles of the Joestar family members across the generations. This manga (and its anime adaptation) is famed for the zany characters, creative and tense battles, and the striking humor and classic scenes.

For years, other anime series have paid loving tribute to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and its characters and quotes, and we've figured out which ten characters in this colorful show are the most hilarious of all. They're all scene-stealers, and the story just wouldn't be the same without them. So (in no particular order), here are the ten goofiest and funniest characters of all, and a great quote from each one!

10 Joseph Joestar ("Nice!")

Joseph Joestar

Who doesn't love Joseph Joestar, the hero of Battle Tendency and a supporting character in Stardust Crusaders? He's a wild and creative young man who will fight evil wherever it lurks, but he's got a pretty electrifying personality, too.

In his young days and golden years alike, Joseph has an odd tendency to get himself into trouble, from black food ink on his mouth to crashing his own funeral to getting magnetized to Avdol in a very awkward position! By the events of Diamond is Unbreakable, his shenanigans are over, but we sure haven't forgotten them.

9 Jean Pierre Polnareff ("Pantsu Maru Mie!")

Joseph Joestar is a pretty goofy guy, but even he isn't quite as wacky as the vengeful Frenchman Polnareff in Stardust Crusaders. At first, he was a villain under DIO's control, and even then, he liked to goof off in battle. He soon joined Jotaro's crew as a loyal friend.

He has a curse: every bathroom he visits is grotesque! Don't forget that time a live pig's head emerged from a toilet, and he found himself cornered in a hotel bathroom when Enyaba was hunting him with her deadly Stand. And we'd all love to see him create Polnareffland!

8 Hol Horse ("Boingo And I, Hol Horse, Are An Invincible Duo!")

Hol Horse in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

At first, Hol Horse was a deadly marksman, styled like a vicious cowboy with his own ideas of justice. But once he was defeated in India, he became a total goofball, and he tried to fight once again... with Boingo by his side (localized as Mondatta)!

Hol Horse made this impressive-sounding declaration once a prediction came true, but considering who's involved, it's more silly than anything. The comic book kid and cowboy as an invincible duo? Hardly. Not even shoving his fingers up Polnareff's nose could win the day, and Jotaro and his allies defeated Hol Horse once again. Too bad.

7 Boingo ("Hee Hee Hee!")

Boingo from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

We're going to cover both Egyptian brothers in this list and let's start with the younger one, Boingo (localized as Mondotta in subtitles). This boy has the stand known as Thoth, which can predict the near-future with psychedelic comic book art. It has to be seen to be believed.

Boingo has a truly bizarre laugh, a wheezy chuckle that's creepy and hysterical at the same time (coupled with his manic expression). The poor guy also gets flustered easily, and he's quick to hide if any danger presents itself. We also like his casual, stylish outfit.

6 Esidisi ("Bwaaaaaaah!")

Some of these characters' best lines are not spoken words, but the sounds that they make. Battle Tendency's major villains are the Aztec Pillar Men, monstrous vampires with godlike power: Esidisi, Kars, Wamuu, and Santana.

Joseph does battle with Esidisi, who has some grotesque powers and lands a savage blow. Then the Aztec vampire god... bursts out crying! It was totally unexpected, and Joseph thought it was pretty darn creepy, coming from a big guy like this. You never know when you'll strike a nerve.

5 Josuke Higashikata ("A Dad Should Give His Son An Allowance, Right?")

Josuke from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

This line is a lot funnier when you have the context. At the end of Diamond is Unbreakable, Joseph and Jotaro are leaving Morioh on a boat, and Josuke is seeing them off on the pier. Then he uses Shining Diamond to swipe Joseph's wallet from afar as repayment for Joseph spending Josuke's last dime at a baby supply store!

Josuke, as a hero, is less like Jotaro and more like his father, and he's a bit petty, too. He erupts whenever anyone makes fun of his hair, and he has a habit of trying to cheat people out of money or exploit them somehow, and he makes funny faces the entire time. And he once healed a villain in the hospital, simply to justify beating him up again!

4 Okuyasu Ninimura ("Your Mom Is Pretty Hot!")

Like Polnareff, Okuyasu started off as a villain, but he soon became a friend, and he, Josuke, and Koichi were quite the trio of stand users. Okuyasu is also a bit of a dim bulb and tends to underthink things or get himself into silly situations.

The poor kid is jealous when Koichi gets involved with Yukako, and he grieves for his own lack of a love life. But it's not all bad news: he is smitten by Josuke's attractive mom, Tomoko, and even admits his feelings right in front of Josuke with zero shame. Finally, he and Josuke were a riot in that Italian restaurant, when Okuyasu's bodily ills were cured one at a time with a stand-enhanced lunch.

3 Mikitaka Hazekura ("You Appear To Be In Low Spirits.")

This line is funny because Mikitaka did some serious understatement, and he doesn't really seem to grasp how people think anyway. He's a shapeshifter (an alien?) who assumed the form of some dice to help Josuke cheat in a game against Rohan.

Things went sideways for everyone involved, though, and Rohan's house caught fire just before Mikitaka gave himself away (he is allergic to sirens). He reminds us of Lieutenant-Commander Data, in a way, and it was hysterical when he first turned into dice... really big dice, that is.

2 Narancia Ghirga ("Drive Around So I Don't Get Dizzy...")

Narancia is trying to repeat Fugo's instructions to prove that he understands... except he doesn't! At some point in Golden Wind, this goofy kid is asked to drive off and do some shopping, but he can't get Fugo's directions straight for the life of him.

He's also a rock-bottom math student, who somehow came up with "28" as the answer for 16x55! Fugo's reaction is totally over the top, but we can understand his frustration. Seriously, 28 is even lower than 55! It should be obvious from a glance that Narancia needs to try again before showing his answers to the hot-headed Fugo.

1 Oingo ("Oh, Shoot!")

Jotaro looks a bit odd in this screenshot, doesn't he? Wait a minute... that's Oingo, the older brother of Boingo! His stand is Khnum, which allows him to morph his face into that of anyone whom he's seen. He assumes Jotaro's face this way as part of an assassination scheme.

Not that it works out. In the car, Polnareff keeps teasing him and challenging him, taxing Oingo's abilities to the limit. At some point, he feigns a stomachache and bails out of the car, and he seems to be in the clear. Then Polnareff tosses Oingo's orange-bomb out the window, Oingo steps on it... and BOOM! Oingo is knocked right out.
