Fans of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure are always ready for the sheer amount of violence and body horror that often goes along with the show. Since its first episodes, JoJo established that it would not be a regular shonen anime. It often goes above and beyond with the camp, violence, and death.

So, it is no surprise that Diamond is Unbreakable contains a lot of dark moments that shock and disturb viewers. Whether they be moments of body horror or misdeeds that are unspeakably evil, here are ten of the darkest moments in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, ranked.

10 A Gang Of Bikers Beat Up Toshikazu Hazamada

Hazamada from jojo

Toshikazu Hazamada was a manga-loving sadist who hated those he looked down on. He and his Stand, Surface, went on a rampage maiming people at the school. His big mistake was targeting Josuke Higashikata, a Joestar descendant with a powerful Stand that could disassemble or reassemble things and people at will.

While not many particularly liked Hazamada, it was hard to watch a child get beat half to death by a biker gang. He was just a high schooler after all. When fans think about it, that was pretty dark.

9 Kobayashi Convinced Koichi He Ran Over A Cat

Tamami tries to deceive Koichi

With all the traumatic animal death JoJo can include, it was not a stretch to believe Tamami Kobayashi was telling the truth when he convinced Koichi Hirose that he had run over his cat in the street. However, Kobayashi was a con artist, and his Stand, The Lock, worked by playing to another person's guilt.

In the end, it was just a cheap trick, and no cats were harmed in the making of that scam. The darkness of this scene was mostly just smoke and mirrors, but Kobayashi was still terrible for giving Koichi that guilt.

8 Yukako Yamagishi Trapped Koichi And Tortured Him

When Yukako Yamagishi set her sights on Koichi, she was willing to do whatever it took to get him, including setting another student's head on fire. However, when Koichi, Josuke, and Okuyasu devised a plan to get her to stop liking him by making Koichi look bad, it backfired. As a result, Yukako kidnapped Koichi and tortured him as a study method.

Not only did she feed him inedible things, but she also forced him to hold his pee until he could solve a puzzle that locked the bathroom door, and she had started to create an electric chair. All this was done to a kid that was still in high school. Yukako was certainly toxic.

7 Tamami Kobayashi Tried To Have Koichi's Mom Die By Her Own Hand

When Kobayashi's original scam did not work, he played a fake wallet trick and tried to have Koichi framed for stealing. Thus, Koichi was indebted to Kobayashi for a large sum of money, and Koichi's mother was wracked with guilt. This allowed Kobayashi to use The Lock on her, and she came close to turning a knife on herself as a result.

This was all over some petty scam that Kobayashi had no business pulling in the first place. However, Koichi was able to use his Stand, Echoes, to make Kobayashi sorry he ever tried.

6 Kishibe Rohan Tried To Peel Off Koichi's Experiences For His Art

Heaven's Door on Koichi

What would JoJo's Bizarre Adventure be without body horror? While no one died thanks to Kishibe Rohan's Stand, Heaven's Door, Koichi was certainly terrorized by it. Heaven's Door turned Koichi into a book, and Rohan was able to peel pages off, slowly turning Koichi into a husk of a person.

Koichi was only saved by Josuke, who beat Rohan up and convinced the mangaka to use Koichi as a muse in more traditional and orthodox ways. Koichi's constant torture at the hands of Rohan made this episode feel unnecessarily dark.

5 Yoshikage Kira Murdered An 11-year old Boy

Anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Yoshikage Kira Killer Queen Stand

Yoshikage Kira was the main antagonist in Diamond is Unbreakable, and this was for a good reason. He and his Stand, Killer Queen took over a salary man's identity and, as a result, his family. However, the eleven-year-old son, Hayato, did not buy Kira's façade, and this made him a target. Kira tried to kill the child.

Kira did kill another character who was also a child and a schoolmate of Josuke and Koichi, Shigekiyo Yangu, who accidentally found out that Kira was a serial killer and subsequently became his next victim.

4 Keicho Nijimura's Death Happened Right In Front Of His Brother

Keicho Nijimura points

While Keicho Nijimura was a villain and tried to kill Koichi and Josuke (almost succeeding with Koichi), he was only turning people into Stand users to find someone to put his father out of his misery. Still, his methods were not right and they caused a lot of subsequent death and torment.

However, when Okuyasu, Keicho's younger brother, became good and tried to get through to Keicho, Red Hot Chili Pepper showed up and killed Keicho right before his younger brother's eyes.

3 The Reveal With Okuyasu's Father Was Sad And Disturbing

Okuyasu and Keicho's father was permanently turned into a near-unkillable monster by DIO and his flesh buds from Stardust Crusaders, and when this was revealed, the darkness of the Nijimura family situation was revealed as well.

Not only were the kids abused and neglected, but their father was also rendered a monster, and they only wanted to find a way to stop their father's pain. This endeavor proved to be a lot harder and more traumatic than the brothers could have guessed.

2 Rohan Had To Face Death Multiple Times

Kishibe Rohan moments before his death by Bites the Dust

Rohan Kishibe is one of the favorite characters in Diamond is Unbreakable, continuing to be popular in further animated and live action OVAs. When Rohan became the first victim of Killer Queen's evolved power, Bites the Dust, it was one of the part's most horrifying moments.

When Rohan used Heaven's Door on Hayato and discovered Kira's identity, Bites the Dust activated, and Rohan slowly realized that he and Heaven's Door were powerless against it. Gravely injured, he struggled to reach Koichi and Jotaro to give them the information, but Killer Queen set off another bomb, and Rohan died calling Koichi's name. The hour reset, and as Hayato still hadn't figured out what to do, Rohan had to face the same death yet again, this time with no knowledge of what was happening to him.

1 Everything About Angelo Is Disgusting And Terrifying

Angelo with Aqua Necklace from Jojo Diamond is Unbreakable

Another serial killer in Morioh was Diamond is Unbreakable's first antagonist, Angelo Katagiri. The universally-hated Angelo was a sick sadist who had a past of torture, rape, and murder. He had been imprisoned until Keicho Nijimura awoke his Stand by using the Stand Arrow on him.

There were so many things wrong with Angelo. Fans even had to watch him bite off a dog's head. He went as far as to kill Josuke Higashikata's grandfather in their own home. Luckily, Hermit Purple had caught wind of him and Jotaro Kujo traveled to Morioh to help stop him just in time.
