10 Avdol Dies Again

Avdol was one of the main characters in Stardust Crusaders. He was introduced very early on in the series. He was accompanying Jotaro's grandfather, Joseph Joestar. Avdol was the first person to teach Jotaro about stands and how they are used. Avdol was presumed to be dead after an encounter with the enemies.

However, Avdol was alive as the fans found out later in the series. It was a huge twist in itself, but Araki decided to take things a step further. He actually killed him for real when he stepped into DIO's mansion.

9 Iggy's Death

After seeing Danny roasted alive, the fans were petrified and if that wasn't enough, Araki decided to kill another dog. This time it was Iggy, who was one of the main characters from the Joestar group. Iggy had his moments where he showed that he was a very valuable asset to the group.

After putting up a great fight against Vanilla Ice and saving Polnareff's life many times, Iggy died. Iggy was severely injured and yet he still managed to the life of his partner.

8 Lisa Lisa Is Joseph's Mother

Lisa Lisa was a woman full of mysteries. She was introduced after Joseph went to Italy in order to learn about Hamon. Lisa Lisa became his mentor and taught him and Caesar about Hamon. There was nothing in the story that hinted towards Lisa Lisa being related to Joseph Joestar.

However, towards the end of part 2, it was revealed by Speedwagon that Lisa Lisa was actually Joseph's mother. This came as a huge surprise to everyone.

7 Diavolo Gets The Better Of Bucciarati

Bruno Bucciarati was without a doubt one of the stars of Golden Wind. Bucciarati became one of the most loved characters in the series. Bucciarati's unique style and the way he held the squad together was admirable. Bucciarati's put his life in danger for the sake of Trish.

Bucciarati immediately realized that he would have to make a decision in a hurry otherwise Trish would die. Bruno did try to save Trish, and his efforts paid off, but he ended up taking a critical hit. The injury eventually led to his death later on in the series.

6 Jonathan Dies With Dio Brando

Jonathan Joestar was the protagonist of Phantom Blood. His character is unique even among Joestars. Jonathan was a chivalrous man and he earned a lot of respect from other people due to his honest nature. For the majority of part one, Dio had the upper hand, but all of that changed pretty soon.

Jonathan managed to control his Hamon and crush Dio. However, Dio Brando actually survived and came back to haunt his former friend. Jonathan was killed by Dio, who sought to use his body to achieve his goals.

5 DIO's Return

A lot of fans believed that Dio Brando's story ended with his lifelong rival, Jonathan. DIO's return was important to the story as putting him back in the story allowed Araki to introduce stands in the JoJo series.

DIO's introduction in the series instantly raised the hype surrounding part three. DIO's return was unexpected, but it affected the story in a positive way and the fans really took a liking to the story.

4 Kira Yoshikage Is Outfoxed By A Kid

Kira Yoshikage is the main antagonist of Diamond is Unbreakable. He remains one of the most popular characters within the JoJo community. Kira Yoshikage's was Killer Queen. It was a very unique stand and it allowed Kira to turn anything into a bomb.

Killer Queen was a versatile stand, as it even allowed Kira to take care of enemies who were out his range. Kira's stand reached a completely different level when he pierced it with the arrow. At one point, it seemed that Kira would actually triumph over everyone, but all his plans were undone by a little kid.

3 Joseph Survives Kars' Assault

Joseph Joestar had the gargantuan task of defeating the Pillar Men in part two. His Hamon wasn't quite on the level that would threaten the Pillar Men, but he trained under Lisa Lisa and learned to control his Hamon better. Joseph managed to defeat Esidisi and Wamu.

However, the biggest challenge that he faced was when he went up against Kars. Kars became the perfect being after using the power of the mask and red stone. At one point, it seemed that Joseph would share the same fate his grandfather, but somehow Joseph managed to outsmart Kars.

2 Mice Get The Better Of Jotaro

Jotaro was the star of Stardust Crusaders. He became an instant fan favorite when he made his first appearance. Jotaro's stand Star Platinum is among the strongest stands in the series. In one of the episodes in Diamond is Unbreakable, Jotaro and Josuke went out to kill some mice that had been shot with the arrow.

The fans were expecting that Jotaro would easily get rid of the mice, however, the rodents had different plans. Jotaro was almost killed by a mouse with a stand. It was totally unexpected and a complete waste.

1 Polnareff's Return

Polnareff was one of the main characters in Stardust Crusaders. He started off as a bad guy, but after being beaten by Avdol, he changed sides. Polnareff's unique hairstyle and his antics endeared him to the audience. After part three ended, Polnareff went his way.

However, he shocked everyone with his appearance in Golden Wind. The best Frenchman was back once again and this time he was out to help Giorno and co. to beat Diavolo.
