JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has given us a lot of memorable characters over the years. Each part has a unique JoJo around which the story revolves. Battle Tendency is the second part in the JoJo series. The main protagonist of Battle Tendency is Joseph Joestar.
Joseph Joestar is one of the few characters who have appeared in several parts. He was a part of Stardust Crusaders as well as Diamond is Unbreakable. To many people, Joseph is the best JoJo and there are plenty of good reasons for it. But, there are certain things that the fans would rather forget about Joseph Joestar.
10 LOVED HIM: RESPECT FOR ESIDISI & WAMUU
Battle Tendency was all about...battles. Joseph had several fights in part 2 and many of them were pretty awesome. Two fights in particular stand out. Joseph vs Wamuu and Joseph vs Esidisi. Both these fights were awesome.
In the fight against Esidisi, Joseph had to work hard because of Esidisi's unpredictability. The fight against Wamuu was outstanding. He had to beat Wamuu in a chariot race. After winning both the fights respectively, Joseph did not disrespect his opponents instead he came to hold them in very high regard.
9 HATED HIM: DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT JOSUKE
Josuke is the main protagonist of Diamond is Unbreakable. He is a very funny guy just like his father, Joseph. For the majority of his life, Josuke did not know who his father was.
He grew up with his mother and his grandfather. It wasn't until Josuke was 16 that Joseph found out that he had a son. It must have been very difficult for Josuke to grow without a father and it could have easily been avoided had Joseph told Suzi Q.
8 LOVED HIM: DEFEATED KARS
When Kars finally became the "Ultimate Being," he became nigh impossible to stop. Before accomplishing the goal of becoming the ultimate form of life, Kars had to fight against Lisa Lisa. Kars was clever enough to place a substitute and hide. He took advantage of the fact that Lisa Lisa was confused and he wounded her severely.
He wasn't a respectable fighter and Joseph was really infuriated by Kars' behavior. Joseph rammed a plane into the volcano in the hope that Kars would die from the lava, but that wasn't enough. However, Joseph went a step beyond and used the Super Aja to deflect Kars' attack. The power of the attack caused an eruption that sent Kars flying into space.
7 HATED HIM: HIS TREATMENT OF SUZI Q
Joseph loved Suzi Q ever since he laid his eyes on her. Before leaving for Switzerland, he promised her that he would come back for her, and he did. Joseph and Suzi Q had a child together who came to be known as Holly Joestar.
But, that was it for their romance. First, Joseph cheated on her with Tomoko Higashikata and had a son by her. He also lied to Suzi Q about the condition of their daughter, Holly.
6 LOVED HIM: AVENGED CAESAR
Caesar and Joseph didn't start off as the best of buddies, but slowly they came to respect each other. When they were in Switzerland, Caesar decided that he would go to the hideout of the Pillar-Men. This proved to be fatal as Wamuu managed to kill him, but Caesar didn't die for nothing.
He managed to take away Wamuu's nose ring, which Joseph needed. Joseph was distraught after finding out that Caesar had died, but he swore that he would avenge. He fulfilled the promise by defeating Wamuu in the chariot race.
5 HATED HIM: RAN AWAY FROM FIGHTS
Joseph is unquestionably the funniest JoJo. He has given the fans a lot of hilarious moments to savor. He fights with ingenuity and that often leaves his opponents very confused and of course, bewildered.
However, Joseph has a terrible habit of running away from fights. He doesn't always take a stand to fight, instead he just runs away.
4 LOVED HIM: PULLED A TOMMY GUN ON STRAIZO
The starting of Battle Tendency was outrageous. Straizo, one of the good guys from Phantom Blood, became a vampire and decided to kill Joseph Joestar. Joseph knew about Straizo, but he couldn't have known that he was a vampire.
Out of nowhere Joseph pulled out a tommy gun and unleashed a barrage of bullets on Straizo. It wasn't enough to kill the vampire, but it instantly made Joseph a fan favorite.
3 HATED HIM: PRANKED JOTARO
This happened towards the end of Stardust Crusaders. Jotaro had finally managed to defeat DIO after a difficult fight. Joseph had been killed by DIO, but Jotaro figured out a way to make him come to life.
Jotaro transfused the blood that DIO had taken from Joseph. He then used his stand to restart Joseph's heart and unsurprisingly, it worked. The first thing that Joseph did was to prank his grandson that thanks to foolishness DIO lived again. If Joseph hadn't admitted to pranking him quickly then Jotaro would have handed him a swift death.
2 LOVED HIM: HELPED JOSUKE TO FIND SHIZUKA
Joseph was a shadow of himself in part 4. He was old and he couldn't go anywhere on his own. While traveling with Josuke through Morioh, the two came across an invisible baby.
After a chain of events, the baby fell into the pond and it became impossible to locate her. Joseph decided to cut himself and stained the pond with his own blood in order to enable Josuke to find her.
1 HATED HIM: DIDN'T CONTROL HIS GRANDSON
Jotaro rarely talked and even when he did, they were mostly one-liners. In Stardust Crusaders, Jotaro surprised everyone mistreating his mother.
What's shocking that Joseph was there all the time and he didn't even try to stop Jotaro from doing such a thing.
