JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, the intergenerational story of the Joestar family, is uniquely structured in that it's separated into parts, each one taking place in a different time period and with a different (and flamboyant) protagonist. What every flamboyant hero needs is an equally flamboyant villain.
Strength is a difficult thing to measure in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Because of the nature of stands and their specific abilities, there's a lot more to consider than just physical strength. How a stand is used also have to be considered. Luckily, the main villains in JoJo's have some of the most interesting stand abilities in the series, but which among them is the strongest? Here's every main villain in JoJo's ranked, based on strength.
8 Dio Brando
For this entry, we're specifically talking about the Dio Brando from the first part of the series, Phantom Blood, not DIO from Stardust Crusaders. Dio Brando came from a poor family and had an alcoholic and abusive father, but he had endless ambition. So even when Dio was taken in by the wealthy Joestar family, it wasn't enough for him. he wanted more power.
Obviously, the next logical step for Dio was to become a vampire, which granted him a whole array of powers. He could heal for almost any injury, shoot lasers from his eyes, and even freeze people with just a touch. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough and Dio was defeated at the hands of Jonathan Joestar.
7 Satoru Akefu
Satoru Akefu from part 8's Jojolion may deserve to be higher on this list, but there are a few reasons why he's not. It's not entirely clear if he's going to be the main villain in Jojolion, however, it does seem that he's being set up as the main villain. There's also the fact that, at the time of writing this, his Stand abilities haven't been revealed so we just don't know how powerful he truly is.
What we do know of his Stand possesses an automatic ability that prevents anyone from pursuing him. Satoru is the head doctor at TG University Hospital, which serves as the headquarters for the research of the Rokakaka fruit. He's also the leader of the Rock Humans, a mysterious race of beings whose members have been the primary antagonists throughout the part. Only time will tell just how powerful Satoru really is.
Battle Tendency, part 2 of the series, has probably the strongest non-Stand user in the series as its main antagonist. Kars is the leader of the Pillar Men, aka the Aztec Gods of Fitness, a race of ancient, vampiric super-human beings. Kars was also the one to create the Stone Masks, the very same that turned Dio into a vampire.
Kars is one of the only villains in the series to successfully carry out his nefarious plans. He sought the Red Stone of Aja to empower the Stone Mask and become immune to the effects of the sun's rays. Once he did that, he became the Ultimate Life Form, and was so powerful, the only way to beat him was to send him into space, where he's drifting to this day.
5 Yoshikage Kira
Yoshikage Kira, from Diamond is Unbreakable, just wants to live a quiet life as a serial killer with a penchant for severed hands but he keeps being kinkshamed by a group of teenagers. Kira had been able to avoid being caught for so long thanks to the abilities of his Stand, Killer Queen.
Killer Queen can turn anything it touches into a bomb that leaves no evidence once it blows up. But that's just its main ability. It also has a second type of bomb called Sheer Heart Attack, which automatically seeking the warmest object in the vicinity. Kira's most powerful Stand ability is Bites the Dust, a miniature version a Killer Queen that enters through someone's eye, explodes, and create a time loop to prevent anyone knowing his true identity.
For this entry, we're talking about DIO from part 3 of JoJo's, Stardust Crusaders. The flamboyant vampire from the first part of the series made a return sporting a new, buff body and wielding one of the most powerful Stands in the entire series, The World. Not only is his Stand about as fast and strong as Jotaro's Star Platinum, but it also has the ability to stop time.
While time is stopped, DIO is able to move around freely. He can mess with people, move to a better position, and can kill his defenseless enemies. When we first see DIO use this ability, he's only able to stop time for 5 seconds but as his fight against Jotaro continues, he becomes able to stop time for 9 seconds. Who knows how long DIO would have been able to stop time if he wasn't defeated?
The mysterious leader of the Passione mafia gang, Diavolo has a crazy powerful Stand with a very confusing power set. Diavolo's Stand, King Crimson, has the power to erase time up to 10 seconds. During this erased time, people are unable to experience what would have happened in that time frame and suddenly find themselves in the situation they were supposed to be in after, but Diavolo remains conscious during the erased time and can re-adjust his actions. Look, it just works.
Diavolo would go to any length to keep his identity hidden, going so far as to attempt to murder his own daughter, as well as developing an entirely different personality that looks drastically different from his true self. Before the events of Vento Aureo, Diavolo faced Polnareff and easily defeated him and nearly killed him, severing both of Polnareff's legs and blinding his right eye.
2 Enrico Pucci
Stone Ocean, the sixth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, had a bit of a mixed reaction from fans but there's no denying that Enrico Pucci is one of the strongest main villains in the series. He may seem like an unassuming priest at Green Dolphin Street Prison, but he's actually DIO's
boyfriend friend and loyal follower who is trying to implement a plan formulated by DIO to "achieve heaven".
Pucci's Stand is unique in that it evolves as Stone Ocean goes on and it gets progressively stronger. His Stand starts out as Whitesnake which can create discs that extract a person's psyche (and Stand) out of their bodies. His Stand then turns into C-Moon which has the power to make Pucci the center of a reverse gravitational shift and repel everything around him. Its most powerful form is Made in Heaven, which has the ability to dramatically accelerate time and is so powerful that it literally remade the universe.
1 Funny Valentine
Funny Valentine is not only the President of the United States but he's also the main villain in Steel Ball Run. He's the true mastermind behind the cross-country Steel Ball Run race so that its contestants will gather the mummified body parts of Jesus for him so he can use its power to further the interests of the United States of America but at the cost of bringing misfortune and chaos to the rest of the world.
Valentine's Stand is Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, or D4C for short, which has a dimensional ability that allows travel across parallel universes. Basically, D4C allows different parallel dimensions to exist at the same time and/or in the same place, however Valentine has to be closed between two objects for his power to work. Valentine becomes even more powerful after he and his Stand are blessed by Jesus with an ability called Love Train, which has absolute power over the concept of "misfortune", effectively making Valentine invincible.
