Hirohiko's long0-running manga franchise JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has thrilled readers with its creative and intense fight scenes since 1987, and the 2010s anime does this venerated series justice 100%. So far, the first five major story arcs have been animated, and the Joestar heroes look great on the small screen.

And so do their companions! Each Joestar hero has a few sidekicks, from Robert Speedwagon to Caesar Zeppeli to Okuyasau Nijimura, and two standouts are Jean-Pierre Polnareff from Stardust Crusaders and Bruno Bucciarati from Golden Wind. Both are fantastic stand users and loyal friends, but now we ask: which of them is the best fighter, and why?

10 Polnareff: Super Speed

Silver Chariot raises rapier in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

This is Silver Chariot, Polnareff's stand. It's a robot fencer with knightly armor, and it uses a rapier to slice and dice Polnareff's enemies. But there is more to a stand than its hitting power or its size; speed is also a major factor.

While Silver Chariot is not the single fastest stand, it is still pretty quick, and when it sheds its bulky armor, it becomes even faster, to the point that most enemy stands can't even see it properly, let alone hit it.

9 Bucciarati: Ruthless

This is Sticky Fingers (localized as Zipper Man), the stand of Bruni Bucciarati. It's not as quick as Silver Chariot, but its user is a hardened Italian mobster, and Bruno knows how and when to go for the throat.

While Polnareff is a tough fighter, he doesn't have Bucciarati's instincts for the kill, and Bruno will defeat enemies much stronger than him if he can figure out a way. And once he does, there will be no mercy!

8 Polnareff: Slicing Fire

You read that right: Silver Chariot can even cut fire! That's how fast and sharp this stand's rapier can be. In Polnareff's first on-screen battle, he clashes with Avdol in Hong Kong, and Siler Chariot proves a formidable opponent for Magician's Red.

Avdol's stand launched some fireballs, and Avdol was sure that Silver Chariot had no defense. Surprise: this steely stand hacked the fire apart, and Joseph, Kakyoin, and Jotaro could hardly believe their eyes. Neither could we.

7 Bucciarati: Tactical Zipper Portals

There is a good reason that Bucciarati's stand name was localized as "Zipper Man": this stand can create zippers on just about anything! This power can be used in a variety of ways, and one of them is to create convenient portals through objects.

Once Sticky Fingers punches an item, it can create a zipper, allowing both it and Bucciarati to slip through walls, locked doors, or just about anything else. Bucciarati can use this to escape harm, or to ambush people through improvised openings in objects.

6 Polnareff: Afterimages

What's this? How are there so many Silver Chariots at once? We mentioned earlier that this stand is really fast, and once the armor comes off, it becomes even quicker. Fast enough, in fact, so it can create afterimages of itself.

Polnareff demonstrated this ability in his battle with Avdol, and against most opponents, this is going to finish the battle quick. They won't know which Silver Chariot to defend against, and the real one will skewer them for sure.

5 Bucciarati: Deadly Zipper Cuts

What kind of offensive power does Sticky Fingers have? While it can deliver rapid punches like Star Platinum, Crazy Diamond, and Gold Experience, it can also create zippers on its opponent's bodies, and then cancel them.

In so doing, Bucciarati can cut an opponent deep or even chop off body parts when he creates a zipper and undoes it, and this can hack an opponent into pieces with potentially lethal effects. Never have zippers been so scary!

4 Polnareff: Defeated Vanilla Ice

Anime The Mist Of Emptiness, Vanilla Ice

The vampire overlord DIO had many stand users as minions, and one of the most fearsome of all was the man known as Vanilla Ice (localized as Cool Ice). His stand, Cream, is an all-devouring monster, and Vanilla Ice can even ride inside it to protect himself.

This terrifying stand claimed both Avdol and Iggy in battle, and Polnareff was cornered with no way out. But at the last moment, Polnareff struck back, and he maneuvered Vanilla Ice toward a sunny window... and Vanilla Ice died! Turned out he was a vampire, and we commend Polnareff for lasting that long.

3 Bucciarati: Splitting Himself Up

This looks like a pretty grisly crime scene, doesn't it? But this was no accident. During his nail-biting duel with Pesci (who uses the Beach Boy stand), Bucciarati needed a way to escape that fishing rod-shaped stand's detection.

Beach Boy can sense heartbeats, so Bucciarati used Sticky Fingers' power on himself and took himself apart like a LEGO set. He even split his heart in half, so it wouldn't beat. Bucciarati nearly gave himself a heart attack, but ultimately, the trick worked.

2 Polnareff: Precision Strikes

By now, we can safely conclude that Silver Chariot is peerless when it comes to battlefield maneuvering and sword strikes, but this stand isn't just quick; it is also precise, and precision counts for everything in a stand battle.

During his first appearance, Polnareff had fun showing off his stand's many capabilities, including tossing coins into the air and skewering them with Silver Chariot with just one rapier thrust. That is one precise stand!

1 Bucciarati: Remote Punches

For the most part, Bucciarati makes use of his tricky zippers to slow down his opponents, go through objects, and cut things apart. But if need be, he can extend those zippers and throw a long-distance punch.

As mentioned earlier, Sticky Fingers is primarily a melee stand like Star Platinum and Gold Experience, but it can extend its body with those zippers (pictured) to take down a foe who would otherwise be out of range. Bucciarati even did this against Diavolo to keep his stand's arm from getting broken by King Crimson.
