After JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean ended, Araki stepped up his writing to the next level. JJBA: JoJolion is the current part. The main protagonist here is Josuke Higashikata, who was previously Josefumi Kujo. This will be quite complicated for fans who haven't read JoJolion, and there are obviously going to be spoilers. This is actually the second time that JoJo fans have seen a character named Josuke Higashikata as the protagonist.

Josuke Higashikata is the name of the protagonist from Diamond is Unbreakable. Josefumi Kujo is a character from JoJolion and he is actually the real identity of Josuke Higashikata. To try and cast some light on this perplexing concept, we are going to discuss some similarities and differences between the two characters.

10 Similar: Morioh

Both Josuke and Josefumi are residents of Morioh. Josuke lives in the city with his mother. Josefumi's past is not something that he is proud of, but he continues to live there. Throughout Diamond is Unbreakable, Josuke tries to save the residents of Morioh from the looming threat of Kira Yoshikage.

Josefumi's story is still incomplete, as JoJolion is ongoing. It will be interesting to see what happens to Josefumi and the town of Morioh at the end of the series.

9 Different: Stands

3. Soft & Wet’s Plundering

Josefumi and Josuke have different stands. Josuke's Stand is Crazy Diamond and it is really powerful. It allows Josuke to affect objects at a molecular level. Josuke's Crazy Diamond can heal people with the most serious injuries and its destructive power is very high as well.

The only drawback of the Stand is that he can't use it to heal himself. Josefumi's Stand, meanwhile, is Soft and Wet. Soft and Wet's main ability is to absorb aspects of things. The Stand is also capable of performing objectives that require high precision.

8 Similar: Kira Yoshikage

One thing that JoJolion and Diamond is Unbreakable have in common is that both prominently feature Kira Yoshikage. In Diamond is Unbreakable, Kira was the main antagonist. He had been ruthlessly killing women all over Morioh until Josuke and the group put an end to his reign of terror.

In JoJolion, Kira Yoshikage had an entirely different goal. He was looking for the Rokakaka fruit in order to save his mother, Holy J. Kira. Josefumi actually helped Kira to save his mother from the mysterious sickness that she was facing.

7 Different: Mentality

Josuke is very different from Josefumi. If one thing is clear from watching Diamond is Unbreakable, it is Josuke's refusal to kill. Even when Josuke faced Yoshikage Kira, he just defeated him and didn't want to kill him.

Josefumi is much more ruthless than Josuke when it comes to disposing of someone. Josefumi is careful not to leave any traces of his work behind. Meanwhile, the Josuke who is a combination of both Kira and Josefumi will kill anyone who stands in his way. It is unclear whether it's Josefumi's personality or Kira's that makes him so unforgiving.

6 Similar: Inability to use Stand

Josuke and Josefumi might have different Stands, but there is one thing that they both share in common: the inability to use the power of their Stands on themselves. Josuke's Stand, Crazy Diamond, could have been among the best Stands if it could heal any damage done to Josuke.

We haven't seen much of Josefumi's Stand, but after his body was merged with Kira's body, he complained that he was unable to use Soft and Wet to help his own body recover.

5 Different: Relation with Kira

Kira Yoshikage was the main antagonist of Diamond is Unbreakable. He was cruel and ruthless, killing many people. Kira's Stand, Killer Queen, helped him to do as he pleased without leaving a trace behind. He was Josuke's main enemy and Josuke needed to get rid of him.

On the other hand, Josefumi and Kira were quite close friends. Kira wanted to save her mother from succumbing to a lethal disease. Josefumi readily agreed to help Kira, because Holy Kira had saved him previously. The two of them combined their powers in order to gain a branch of the Rokakaka plant.

4 Similar: Distinctive Hairstyles

Josuke from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

In true anime fashion, both characters have distinctive hairstyles they're very proud of. Josuke doesn't like being mocked about his hair and he goes into a fury when anybody makes a joke about it. He even attacked Jotaro when he called his hair "stupid."

Josefumi has very similar hair to Josuke. It is unknown whether he's as sensitive about it as Josuke clearly is. We will definitely get to know more about Josefumi in the upcoming chapters.

3 Different: Intelligence

Josuke and alien

This difference between the two characters' intelligence is made quite obvious. Josuke is a loveable airhead and we have seen him doing some very careless, silly things throughout JJBA: Diamond is Unbreakable. He is arguably the most bumbling JoJo protagonist.

is completely different. He has a great deal of knowledge about plants. In fact, Joseph was only able to perform grafting because of Josefumi's intellect. He combined his knowledge with his Stand's ability to successfully get his hands on a Rokakaka tree.

2 Similar: The Absence Of A Father

Josuke Higashikata was the son of Joseph Joestar. Josuke grew up with his mother and his grandfather. Joseph didn't even know of Joseph's existence until Jotaro did some research. Joseph is not a bad person, but he was anything but an attentive father.

Josefumi's case is a bit different. His father was Sadafumi Kujo. When Josefumi was still just a child, he divorced his mother and left the two on their own. Josefumi's mother proved to be quite careless while raising him.

1 Different: Josefumi Kujo's Fate

This is quite a painful difference between the two. At the end of Diamond is Unbreakable, Josuke was able to beat Kira Yoshikage and save Morioh. The same can't be said about Josefumi Kujo.

Josefumi died while fighting alongside Kira Yoshikage. He was at Wall Eyes, where, due to the equivalent exchange, a part of Kira's soul got inside Josefumi's body. This led to Josuke Higashikata being born. There are a lot of mysteries that surround Josefumi and they will hopefully be unraveled at the end of the series.
