Hirohiko Araki's ongoing manga/anime series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is all about the Joestar family and their never-ending battle against evil. Jonathan and Jotaro fought the vampire Dio Brando, while Joseph battled the Pillar Men and Josuke took on Yoshikage the serial killer. Meanwhile, what about Giorno Giovanna?

He's the hero of the fifth part, Golden Wind, and his stand is Gold Experience. With it, Giorno can pummel anyone into submission, or morph non-living objects into animals or plants. He can even heal wounds this way. As a Shonen anime hero, Giorno got himself into all kinds of action scenes, and now, it's time to rank his top ten coolest fight scenes. When everyone has a stand, the fur is bound to fly.

10 Giorno And Narancia Vs Tiziano And Squalo

Narancia did most of the fighting in this 2v2 stand battle later in Golden Wind, but Giorno was right there and ready to help, and he alone realized what was really going on with Narncia. At first, everyone was confused by Narncia's strange speech (courtesy of Talking Head).

Giorno figured it out, and he even took a blow so Narancia could keep standing. From there, Giorno urged Narancia to pursue the users of these two enemy stands directly, and this proved to be good advice.

9 Giorno Vs Koichi

This was more of a misunderstanding than a true stand battle, so it ranks fairly low in the list. Still, it's interesting to see the new hero (Giorno) cross swords with a supporting hero of Diamond is Unbreakable. Koichi has definitely learned to stand up for himself.

Reverb and Gold Experience each show off what they can do, and Giorno needs a few minutes to realize the true power of Koichi's stand: gravity control. It's a tricky element to fight, but Giorno escapes with an improvised tree, and he escapes.

8 Giorno Vs Polpo

Giorno was given the task of holding onto a lighter and keeping its flame lit for 24 hours, in order to join the Passione gang. But the light went out, and Polpo's remote-operated stand, Black Sabbath, moved in for the kill.

This stand can move in the shadows, though sunlight badly damages it. Giorno had a tough time against this stand until he tricked Black Sabbath into the sun, by means of rotting apart a tree that he grew. Then victory was assured.

7 Giorno Vs Bucciarati

Giorno fights bucciarati

Bucciarati seemed like a villain at first, and he and Giorno had a pretty intense stand battle in close quarters before taking it outside. Giorno showed off the ability to grant his opponent extra life power, but it's not the perk that Bucciarati expected.

In return, Bucciarati demonstrated his zipper-based powers with Sticky Fingers, and he even disguised himself inside another person during the outside phase of this battle. Fortunately, both warriors stood down before anyone suffered permanent damage.

6 Giorno, Abbacchio, And Fugo Vs Illuso

Giorno Giovanna fighting Illuso in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Golden Wind

An assassin named Illuso wields a stand named Man in the Mirror, and Bucciarati's gang really struggles to contend with this stand's mirror worlds. Abbacchio makes some progress, but he can't finish the battle on his own, so Giorno and Fugo help.

To put things concisely, Giorno combines the deadly virus of Fugo's stand with his own stand's abilities, and he helps Fugo track down Illuso and attack him directly. Once again, Gold Experience's ability to turn objects into living things is much more useful than it sounds at first.

5 Giorno Vs Melone

Giorno's stand, Gold Experience, can turn objects into living things. But what if a stand could do the opposite? Not long after the train battle en route to Florence, a new stand appears, a remote-operated stand named Babyface.

This stand starts turning Giorno's body parts into non-living objects, but Giorno manages to reverse those effects and take the fight to Babyface, and win. He proves that he's not such a novice anymore with a few decisive blows.

4 Giorno's Group Vs Carne

Notorious BIG is the stand of Carne, and this stand is truly bizarre: it only activates when its user has died. For that reason, it cannot be stopped by killing its user, and this fast and vicious stand will chase after the fastest-moving object around.

This grotesque, meat-like stand challenged Giorno's entire group, and it was lucky that Giorno figured out how to kick this thing off the plane without getting anyone killed in the process. Now, that stand lurks in the ocean forever, where it poses no threat to Giorno's group.

3 Giorno And Mista Vs Ghiaccio

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Golden Wind Giorno, Mista, Ghiaccio

Now the battles are really getting good, and Giorno and Mista pushed themselves to the limit to fight the ice-wielding Ghiaccio. Giorno and Mista are driving to Venice by car, when Ghiaccio attacks them with his stand, White Album.

Ghiaccio enjoys an early lead, and Giorno and Mista have to pool all their talents to stand a chance. Mista's bullets and Giorno's repeated kicks (via his stand) finally finish off this brutal assassin just as the sun rises, and Giorno uses his stand abilities to heal Mista's grievous wounds.

2 Giorno Vs Cioccolata

Green Day in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

This is a stand battle for the ages. While Bucciarati takes on the earth-dwelling Secco, Giorno challenges Cioccolata and his deadly mold-based stand, Green Day. Cioccolata is a sadistic man who used to torment the elderly, and now, he's here to finish off the heroes for good.

It's a long and bitter fight, to say the least, and just when it seemed Cioccolata went down, he rises and keeps fighting! Giorno gives it his all to finally take him out, and with Cioccolata out of the way, it's time to proceed to the mission's final phase.

1 Giorno's Group Vs Diavolo

Here it is, the final and best of Giorno's fights in Golden Wind. The finale of this story arc is quite complex, but suffice it to say, multiple stands (including Polnareff's) are all thrown into the mix in nighttime Rome. It's a sight to see.

Finally, Giorno gets a hold of the stand arrow, and his stand becomes the one and only Gold Experience Requiem. This mega-powerful stand traps Diavolo in an infinite loop of brutal deaths, and it's a fine way to cap off this action-packed story arc of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
