Hirohiko Araki's hit manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has been adapted into an equally popular animated series, and so far, the first five major story arcs have graced the small screen. The fifth and most current installment is Golden Wind, starring the 5th major Joestar protagonist: Giorno Giovanna.

This idealistic young man grew up in Italy, surrounded by terrifying crime families and a violent drug trade. But all the same, he has a dream, and he joins the notorious Passione gang to bring justice to the streets. Now, ten cosplayers have skillfully brought Giorno and his friends to life with their costumes, and some cosplayers dressed up as villains, too! So, let's check out ten Golden Wind cosplayers who went the extra mile.

Update July 22nd, 2020 by Louis Kemner: The story of Golden Wind is one of redemption, hope and friendship in the sunny streets of Italy, and hero Giorno Giovanna will stop at nothing to make a more peaceful world where all the people can live. That's the Joestar dream, and it's what drew Bruno Bruccirati to him. In honor of this thrilling (and often tragic) story arc, let's meet a few more cosplayers who really know how to bring these characters to life.

15 On The Front Cover

Giorno and Bruno Bucciarati are looking pretty photogenic today, and they decided to lend their good looks to a popular magazine. They are at once similar and quite different, since they are well-dressed stand users but with contrasting hair colors. Gold and black contrast well.

In this shot, one cosplayer used darker clothes for Giorno and the other used black and white stripes to echo Bruno's original black and white spotted outfit, and it's a simple but elegant look for this shot. What's more, the Bucciarati cosplayer has gold eye shadow to mirror Giorno.

14 Brothers

Bruno may be an only child, and his home life fell apart when his mother left and his father was nearly killed. But he's moved on, and now, his squad in Passione has become his new family. He himself built this family with his own two hands.

To honor the ties that bind, these cosplayers linked arms, showing that light and dark are intertwined and united, rather than kept apart. Abbacchio has suffered much, but Bruno offered him a second chance, and he gratefully took it.

13 Still Learning

Poor Narancia. He may be a competent stand user with his airplane-like Aerosmith, and he has some street smarts, too. But when it comes to math and studying, he has a long way to go. Just ask Fugo, his frustrated tutor.

This cosplayer shows us a more casual Narancia, who traded in his leather outfit for a comfortable hoodie. He's got his work cut out for him; the SATs are looming, and Narancia can hardly put two and two together. For added effect, the cosplayer added the classic "vein mark" of anger on Narancia's head.

12 Fine Desserts

The Passione gang members are never above a fine dessert, and when Bruno's squad first appears, they're about to dig into some strawberry cake at a restaurant. Mista, though, is troubled by the total number of slices: the dreaded four.

Fortunately, Narancia, Trish, and Bruno are totally fine with it, and here they are in a vividly lit restaurant scene, complete with a mouth-watering cake ready for eating. As per his name, Narancia has a few oranges, and Bruno, meanwhile, is looking classy with a glass of red wine.

11 Making Friends

To the left is Trish Una, who is in fact boss Diavolo's estranged daughter. She wants nothing to do with him; in fact, she helps Giorno's gang take him down. On the right, meanwhile, is Guido Mista with a new black outfit.

Trish is looking good today, with her carefully coiffed pink hair and her look of comfortable superiority. Mista, meanwhile, is holding her close both as a friend and as a loyal bodyguard. He won't let any enemy's stand get close to his new friend.

10 The Doctor Is In

Many works of fiction like to subvert doctors (nurturing figures) into total monsters, who use their medical knowledge to torture and abuse people. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure gives us a mad doctor in the form of Cioccolata, a brutal man who would torment retirement home residents without mercy.

He's also a stand user, and his stand can spread deadly mold all over the place. But Cioccolata isn't alone... this cosplayer made sure to include his subterranean friend, Secco, who is also looking good in this shot. They may be friends, but they're not your friend!

9 Glamorous Bucciarati

While Giorno is the Joestar lead of Golden Wind, it really wouldn't be the same without Bruno Bucciarati. Fans love this guy since he's not only a clever stand user (he can make zippers), but he's an honest and loyal leader who gives a second chance to people who have lost their way.

Now, this cosplayer brought Bruno to life in style, from the jauntily open shirt to that classic pose (Araki was often inspired by Italian statues) to that charming background of Venice (at least, we think it's Venice). The stylish makeup is reminiscent of the manga's distinct art style, which a great touch to add.

8 The Squad

In each arc of the story, the Joestar hero has a small gang with him. Jonathan had Speedwagon and Baron Zeppeli, Jotaro had the Stardust Crusaders and Josuke had a few high school friends to run with. But Giorno has a gang.

These cosplayers decided: why not show off one character when they can show them all? Giorno is roughly in the middle, while Trish joins the group from the left and Mista and Abbacchio take up the background. And, being the flamboyant kid he is, Narancia is posing in the foreground.

7 Narancia, plus Aerosmith!

Narancia is such a cool character, we just had to include him twice in this list. This time, we get a young man who shares the orange color scheme of the previous cosplayer but puts more emphasis on the black leather that this gangster loves so much. What a shiny outfit this is!

Not only are the pose and wig right on point, but check out that stand! Aerosmith (sometimes call Lil Bomber) is reimagined in fine detail, and we swear it's about to fly right out of the screen.

6 Abbacchio Can See You

Meet another member of Giorno's team, Leone Abbacchio. However, he doesn't give Giorno the same welcome that Bruno and Mista did. In fact, he can't stand Giorno, and he makes this fact very clear more than once.

But he does dress up in style, and his stand, Moody Blues, has the unique ability to recreate a person where they stood and act out their past actions (a criminal investigator's best friend). This cosplayer brought every detail to life, from Abbacchio's cautious and wary expression to his cool leather outfit and his long, pale hair.

5 Heavy Metal

Now it's time for another villain! Golden Wind features all kinds of blood-chilling villains, and Cioccolata was just the start. There's also the vicious rogue Risotto Nero, a merciless man whose stand, Metallica, can draw out the iron from a person's body.

He wields this power against Doppio, and with it, he manifests Doppio's body's iron as razor blades that pop right out of his mouth. Without iron in his system, Doppio is in big trouble! So, this cosplayer went the extra mile to capture Risotto's menace, from his leering face and glowing red eyes to his pose and the eerie filter used for this shot. Spooky!

4 Japanese-Style Bucciarati

Bruno Buccirarati is an Italian man, but JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a work of manga, so it's fun to imagine foreign (from a Japanese perspective) characters in traditional clothes of Japan itself. What if Bruno was born and raised there?

This cosplayer has the answer, with this elegant gender-bent Bucciarati. Her robe is 100% Japanese but has the right colors and patterns to emulate the original outfit, and that headpiece and stylish umbrella really round out the cosplay.

3 Cold As Ice

Meet another villain, the (literally) chilling Ghiaccio. Giorno and his friends run afoul of this ice user later in the story, and the ensuing battle was definitely worth the wait. Ghiaccio has a punk attitude, keen battle instincts, and a monster of a stand that can create ice.

This cosplayer opted to show us Ghiaccio's irritated side, and that makeup is just right to salute the manga's classic visual style. We love that wig, too, which captures Ghiaccio's curly locks, and that bright red pair of glasses. He's a standout for sure.

2 Mr. Romantic

Poor Giorno has been left out until now. Let's make up for it with this creative cosplay of the hero of Golden Wind. In this case, we get a gender-bender Giorno who opted for the "ladies' man" route, and these are some fine results.

It looks like Giorno is high up on a balcony, and he/she has a charming expression and a lovely white rose to show this character's more gentle side. Perhaps he and Trish are little more than friends by now?

1 Boss Man

Diavolo has arrived at last, and he's just as intimidating as one would expect him to be. He may not dress like a typical mob boss, but he's got the attitude of one, as well as the brutal stand King Crimson.

This cosplayer chose a dramatic angle, like a shot out of the anime from the perspective of a hapless victim. Better yet, the coslayer used an eerie filter to add a menacing tone to this shot, plus the classic "GO, GO, GO" sound effect to fill up the negative space in true JoJo style.
