In a long-running series like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, there is going to be a huge cast of diverse characters, from heroes and fighters to rogues, villains, and bystanders, and everything in between. This particular series jumps from one time period and setting to another, from Victorian England to Italy in 2001. Characters come and go.

Many of these characters use powerful stands, and others are fist fighters. Legendary figures from this series include Jotaro Kujo, Dio Brando, Joseph Joestar, and Yoshikage Kira, but some other characters seem largely forgotten or underrated by the fandom. These characters may not be literally forgotten, but they are outstanding people who are often overlooked. The following ten characters ought to get a little more attention in fan art or cosplay alongside their more popular peers.

10 Erina Pendleton

Even in Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency, the two story arcs where Erina appears, she is really just a side character, which is a shame. This girl seemed like a pushover at first, and needed Jonathan to help her with some bullies, but she grew into a respectable woman not long after that.

Erina doesn't use hamon or a stand, but she has the strength of conviction and loyalty, and she was ready to face a new day and live on for her late husband's sake. Once that ship went down, she adopted an infant Lisa Lisa, and Joseph Joestar held her in high regard during Battle Tendency.

9 Baron Zeppeli

A lot of attention goes to a particular Phantom Blood character: Robert Speedwagon. He's got the looks and loyalty to be a fine companion and fans joke that he is solid waifu material. That's great, but let's not forget about Baron Zeppeli.

He is a Hamon master (the first-ever seen), and his cool personality, great outfit, and advanced skills make him a star in this early story arc. It's a shame that he had so little time on screen; maybe that's why he doesn't get more attention.

8 George Joestar

A trend is emerging: no one really remembers that much from Phantom Blood. That's understandable, since this story arc is old, short, and does not have stand battles. Still, its characters are some of the most sympathetic and relatable in the series.

Another forgotten hero is George Joestar, who looks oddly like Sam Elliott, and arguably set the entire franchise into motion when he adopted Dio Brando into his home. He died at Dio's hands but felt no anger or spite. He nobly wished Jonathan the best and passed on.

7 Smokey

Now it's time for Battle Tendency, and Joseph Joestar had a crew of his own. He most notably fought alongside Lisa Lisa and Stoheim, but he also had a friend in Smokey, a kid from New York who did a lot of growing up.

At first, Smokey was little more than a street urchin, but hew was inspired by Joseph Joestar's courageous deeds and grew up to become a fine man. He got his happy ending by becoming a major in his home state of Georgia, a historic first (according to the narrator).

6 Santana

Santana Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

This character is the subject of a number of "Araki forgot" jokes since he was last seen sitting in a storage room, and his story was never really resolved. Even if Araki didn't actually forget, poor Santana is largely ignored by the fandom, it seems.

He was the first Pillar Man to emerge, and his incredible physique and unique powers made him a real challenge for the good guys. To Santana's credit, he wasn't malicious; he was just confused and arrogant, being a Pillar Man, and he just did what he knew best.

5 Holly Joestar

Like Erina, Holly is a wonderful mom who gets pushed to the sidelines, which is a shame. Her plant-like stand is really just a drain on her energy and is slowly killing her, and this is why Jotaro and Joseph trek to Egypt to slay DIO, the root of the problem.

Otherwise, Holly is an outstanding character, a doting mother and a cheerful figure who can brighten anyone's day. She moved from the U.S. to Japan and integrated quite smoothly, and overall, it's no wonder Kakyoin has a soft spot for her.

4 Tomoko Higashikata

Enter JoJo Mom #3, who is a little more prominent than the other two, but not by a lot. She is a resident of Morioh and is the mother of Josuke Higashikata, and unlike Holly, she knows how to defend herself. Tomoko has no fear when facing thugs or creeps.

But she is gentle, too, and raised Josuke well. She also warmly greeted Okuyasu when he paid a visit one morning before school to meet up with Josuke. Add to that her great sense of fashion and good looks, and she makes for a seriously underrated character.

3 Aya Tsuji

This woman is a stand wielder, and she is one of few stand users to not engage in combat. Her stand, Cinderella, does not throw punches; instead, it can alter a person's face and swap out their features with a steady hand.

Aya fancies herself the fairy godmother from the story of Cinderella, a curious mix of a plastic surgeon, life coach, and fortune teller. It's a shame she lost her life at the hands of Kira, or she could have popped up again and shown the viewers what else she can do.

2 Keicho Nijimura

Here is another underrated, often overlooked character from Diamond is Unbreakable. Then again, so many cool and unique stand users are introduced so rapidly, it's no surprise that a few have fallen off the fans' radars.

Keicho is Okuyasu's brother, and he may be a bit obscure since he is a straightforward thug who died in his first major battle. His stand, Bad Company, is a fascinating one: it's a miniature modern army come to life, like toys from the Toy Story movies. Way cool.

1 Tonio Trussardi

Anime jojo tonio

It's easy to remember Okuyasu's lunch of magical healing Italian food, but sometimes, a fan might forget that it is all thanks to a selfless stand user in the kitchen. Like Aya, Tonio is often overlooked since Okuyasyu's scene easily overshadows him.

At first, Josuke was convinced that Tonio was evil, but really, this Italian chef means well, and it brings him joy to heal people with his food. He's also rather strict, and he orders Josuke to scrub the entire kitchen as punishment for making a ruckus. He also has a lovable dog.
