JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is one of the most popular anime/manga franchises in the world. In the last decade, JoJo fans have been blessed with anime. David Production animated the first five parts of JoJo and it was a wonderful experience. Two of the most famous chapters are Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable.

Stardust Crusaders is without a doubt the most popular part. It was the first in the series to introduce the concept of Stands. Diamond is Unbreakable was the next to follow and, like every JoJo part, was set in a different location. Here are five reasons why Stardust Crusaders is better than Diamond is Unbreakable and vice versa.

10 Stardust Crusaders: Adventure

The Joestar Team from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders.

Stardust Crusaders followed the adventures of Jotaro and his gang as they traveled across the world in order to reach Egypt and stop Dio. It is the most adventurous part of the franchise and it really is amazing to see the gang go through several different countries.

Diamond is Unbreakable is set in Japan and, in terms of crafting a sense of adventure, it isn't on the level of Part 3 that is for sure. The journey of Jotaro, Polnareff, Kakyoin, Iggy, and Joseph Joestar definitely helped the fans to bond better with the characters.

9 Diamond is Unbreakable: Writing

If one thing is clear about the entire JoJo franchise it is that Araki's writing has improved with each part. Part 3 was pretty amazing, however, Part 4 felt better written and offered a stronger story.

The whole arc revolving around Kira and the town of Morioh is brilliant. A lot of things about Stardust Crusaders don't seem to make all that much sense. Even though Part 3 had the awesomeness that was Dio vs Jotaro, the moment where Jotaro awakened the power to stop time doesn't make any sense.

8 Stardust Crusaders: Iconic Villain

Lord Dio is one of the most famous characters in the entire anime community. Dio was introduced in Jojo's first part before being brought back in Part 3 by Araki. Everyone believed that Dio had died in Part 1 but the villain surprised everyone when he returned during Stardust Crusaders.

Dio is a very good villain and plays a crucial role in almost every part of the series. Yoshikage Kira is no pushover, but when it comes to popularity, Dio is the clear winner.

7 Diamond is Unbreakable: Better Villain

While on the subject of villains, it is a good time to talk about one of the best characters that Araki has created: Yoshikage Kira. Kira is the main antagonist of Part 4 and he is an upgrade from Dio.

A lot of people might disagree, but Kira is a better-written character. Kira wreaked havoc in Morioh for years without getting caught and he would have remained anonymous if Shigechi hadn't managed to take one of the buttons on his coat. Kira carefully avoided everyone and it took a lot of effort by Joseph and company to catch him.

6 Stardust Crusaders: Peak Joseph & Jotaro

Joseph Joestar was the main protagonist of Battle Tendency, Part 2 of the Jojo story. He is among Araki's greatest characters and arguably the best JoJo in the franchise. With already a very high reputation, the inclusion of Joseph in Stardust Crusaders was amazing.

However, the main focus of Part 3 was Joseph's grandson, Jotaro Kujo. He possesses one of the strongest Stands in the series, but the best part about Jotaro is his personality. Jotaro is very cool and manages to keep the fans entertained with his tough-guy attitude throughout the entirety of Stardust Crusaders.

5 Diamond is Unbreakable: Josuke Higashikata

Josuke from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Josuke Higashikata is the main protagonist of Diamond is Unbreakable. There are plenty of things that make Josuke a unique character, including his Stand. Josuke can manifest Crazy Diamond, a unique Stand that can heal things and people. Most of the Stands revolve around offensive special abilities, but Crazy Diamond is different.

This suits Josuke's nature perfectly as he tried to resist killing anyone. Josuke's hair is impeccable and the story behind his hairstyle is very good as well. Lastly, Josuke is a lot more relatable than any other JoJo. He is an average highschooler, with average intelligence and a knack for getting into trouble.

4 Stardust Crusaders: Stand Variety

Each part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has plenty of unique Stands. Some of the unique Stands in Stardust Crusaders are Star Platinum, Silver Chariot, Anubis, Cream, and many others.

Diamond is Unbreakable isn't far behind when it comes to Stand variety either, with Red Hot Chili Pepper, Heaven's Door, Enigma, and Killer Queen ranking as some of the more memorable ones. Both the parts have very unique Stands and it is really difficult to separate them. However, Stardust Crusaders has better variety as the Stands are based on tarot cards and the Egypt Nine Glory Gods are also very unique.

3 Diamond is Unbreakable: Supporting Characters

One of the key things that can make or break a series is the supporting cast, with both Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable excelling in this department.

Part 3 has Polnareff, Abdul, Joseph, and Iggy, just to name a few of them. In comparison, Part 4 has Okuyasu, Joseph, Shigechi, and Kishibe Rohan, which are all very amazing characters. Rohan, in particular, has gained a lot of popularity and even managed to get his own spin-off.

2 Stardust Crusaders: Fights

A fight between Jotaro and Dio in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders.

JoJo is known for its fights. Each part has some of the most iconic battles in anime history. However, no fight in the franchise comes close to being as iconic as Jotaro and Dio's battle in Stardust Crusaders.

Polnareff and Iggy's battle against Vanilla Ice is also amazing, as are many others throughout Part 3. Diamond is Unbreakable had its moments as well, but there aren't any fights that reach the same magnitude as Dio vs Jotaro.

1 Diamond is Unbreakable: Ending

Even though both Parts have their positives and negatives, Diamond is Unbreakable is superior when it comes to its story and ending. Josuke remains true to his character until the very end. Even when up against a murderer like Kira, he didn't get his hands dirty by killing him.

Part 4 builds towards a satisfying and tense conclusion that serves as a great ending point for the cast. Stardust Crusaders' ending is also strong, albeit more in terms of action than character development.
