Jojo's Bizzare Adventure is one of the most well-known shows of all time, even by celebrities like Lil Nas X. So, as such, it's time to take a look back on many of the fanbase's favorite parts of Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable. David Productions, the studio behind the anime adaptation, has done more than a fantastic job of animating this classic series.

With every season they add a bit of their own flair to separate each Jojo into their own world/story. Part 4 in particular though is the most different visually from the manga, but that's not the only way. What else is different? Let's compare and contrast to see what anime-only fans might've missed.

10 Some Cut Lines Of Dialogue

Other than the color palette, the only aspect thats nearly as obviously changed is a bit of dialog. It's not anything huge, but the show has to make itself as concise as possible to fit everything into 22-minute episodes. Because of that, some character-relevant lines were cut for time throughout the entirety of the show. The only time it's offensive is when they cut the line about Kira thinking the ghost alley could be the peaceful life he was looking for. Again, it added nothing to the plot, but really nailed Kira's personality in a single line, and is many fans favorite lines in Part 4 altogether

9 That Eyeblindingly Beautiful Color Palette

Alright now that we pretended to talk about something else for a minute, let's get back to the color palette! We personally love it, but we're also huge fans of over-saturated colors. Every season of JJBA has tried to do something different with the artstyle or flair to make the Part feel unique. Part 1 was classic, Part 2 is a bit more modern anime, Part 3 experimented with 3D and color, but Part 4 is probably still the most different. Honestly, though, the surreal color palette works for the time period Diamond Is Unbreakable takes place in, and drives home the theme of Morioh being this singular and separated small town.

8 The Kroger-Brand Names For Stands

So this is something that has been a part of the franchise since Part 3, and will only get worse going forward. When it comes to Stands, Araki, for some reason, decided that these so-called "Hamon" spirits (which still doesn't make sense) should follow naming conventions. From Part 4 onwards, Stands are bands. And we don't mean that they're named similarly to bands, they have the exact same names. But, because of Copyright laws in America, they can't exactly use the name exactly, so they use a "mostly similar" name in the subtitles.

Crazy Diamond becomes Shining Diamond, Bad Comapny becomes Worse Company, and Killer Queen becomes Deadly Queen. And that's fine, we get why they had to do that, but it doesn't make it any less hilarious than when the character screams Killer Queen in the audio, but the subtitles swear they actually said "Deadly" Queen.

7 Kira's Reveal Jumps The Gun

Usually, when a manga is adapted into an anime, we'd say the split between people who read the manga and people who only know the anime is about 20-80. Manga readers are always in the minority unless its for huge, long-running manga/shows like One Piece, My Hero Academia, or Jojo. That's because Jojo's been serialized for a very long time, so a good portion of its audience are manga fans who know the entire plot ahead of time. And, as such, Jojo Part 4 tries to play to its audience by showing their main villain Kira Yoshikage way earlier than the manga did. We understand why, but it still feels like they got a bit too excited.

6 Cinderella Only Comes After Shegechi's Tragedy

Quite frankly, anime usually does a lot to help out when it comes to the more convoluted storylines. My Hero Academia's Overhaul arc was all over the place on paper, but its really coming together when animated. The same could be said for Jojo, as Part 4 kind of flip flops between serious and silly a bit too often. One example is the fact that right after Shegechi's tragic death in the manga, there was an entire chapter dedicated to the overly sweet and creepy relationship between Koichi and Yukako. Thankfully they made this happen a bit earlier in the anime so that the pacing wasn't quite so jarring.

5 Some Of Okuyasu's Best Lines

Okuyasu is such a gem. Frankly, he's one of the best characters from this part. Starting out as an antagonist, joining the protag's party, becoming the comic relief, and finally fulfilling his family's purpose and avenging his brother!

But, the anime cut a few of his most charming lines and moments for the sake of time. And, while we can't blame David Productions, we wish they hadn't. In particular, the line he says while facing off with Kira's spiritual father about how ghosts can breathe because if they did we'd be out of oxygen just sums up his character so perfectly. .

4 Kira's Awkward Landlord Interaction

Kira's an oddball, people love him, but he's a full-on psychopath. Most of the time, this serial killer feels pretty one dimensional, but there are a few key moments that let us see Kira Yoshikage's more awkward side. And, one of the best is the scene with the landlord right after Kira assumes Kosaku Kawajiri's identity. Basically, the Kawajiri family is behind on rent and the landlord has come to collect, but Kira doesn't know the code to the families safe, because why would he. The panel of Kira just blankly staring at the safe, only to briskly walk out of the room without a word is pure gold. But, this scene is cut short in the anime, which is a real shame.

3 Rohan Won't Put Americans On Blast

Rohan is basically Araki's self-insert, everyone knows it, Araki has all but confirmed it. It's why his stand is so overpowered, it's why he's so "handsome" and successful, and it's why he got his own OVA. And there's no better example of this than in the manga where Joseph is asking the mangaka about why he doesn't sell his comics in English. On the page, Rohan proceeds to throw mass amounts of shade at America saying that we are worth the time to translate his work. Of course, this was before the series was ever adapted in the west. We get why a scene like that would be cut in the adaptation, but that doesn't mean we have to like it.

2 Mikitaka Can't Strut His Alien Stuff

We're not sure if it was intentional, most of Araki's forgotten threads aren't intentional, but the case of Mikitaka feels a bit different. In any case, Mikitaka "might" be a Stand user, or he might be an alien, as he so proclaims. Either way, he's stronger than some other weak Stand Users so that's already a plus, and the guy can shapeshift into any shape he wants. This ability has been named "Earth, Wind, and Fire" (which would be re-used later on in Part 6), and the interactions with him and Josuke are some of the funniest moments in the manga series. But, it's been cut short in the anime. We get why, but since Mikitaka never really shows up again, so give the lifeform his time in the spotlight!

1 Kira Doing Mad Calculations

Yoshikage Kira is a genius-level serial killer. He's also good looking, smart, adaptable, and great with critical thinking. And, he's apparently fantastic at math! How do we know? Well in the manga, Kira uses some insanely accurately mathematical calculations to attack Josuke from afar in their final battle, it's one of the funniest scenes mostly due to its absurdity. But, they cut it in the anime, now Kira just holds his hands up and knows exactly how far Josuke is, which only makes it more absurd than ever! Feels like they attempted to tone it down, and only ended up making it worse.
