Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are teaming up to bring the comic book miniseries Ball and Chain to film.

According to Deadline, the Jungle Cruise stars will play Edgar and Mallory Bulson, a couple on the verge of divorce. After they receive superpowers from a freak accident, they have to learn to get along in order to save the world. Emily Gordon and Kevin Misher will pen the script.

The film will be based on the four-issue miniseries of the same name by Scott Lobdell, Ale Garza and Richard Bennett. According to the synopsis for the comic's debut issue, which describes the series as a "super-powered romantic comedy,"

After three years of a tumultuous marriage, Edgar and Mallory Bulson have decided to throw in the towel. That was the plan anyway, until a mysterious meteor bathed the battling couple in extraterrestrial energies...energies that gave them super-powers! Will their newfound abilities be enough to make their marriage work?

At the time of writing, studios are still bidding on rights to the film. Netflix has also thrown in for a shot at adapting the miniseries.
