Johnny Knoxville and Patton Oswalt are two comedy powerhouses whose orbits have never quite managed to cross. That's all going to change soon, with a press release confirming that the duo will star together in an untitled comedy from writer/director Todd Rohal, a relative newcomer who made his debut at the latest Sundance with The Catechism Cataclysm.

Knoxville and Oswalt will be joined by a cast that includes Rob Riggle, Maura Tierney and Patrice O'Neal. Nothing's been revealed yet about the story beyond that it's "loosely based on Rohal's experiences growing up." Marc Turtletaub and Peter Saraf will produced through Big Beach Films, along with David Gordon Green, who serves as executive producer.

Deadline reports that the script was originally written with the title Scout Master, which suggests -- along with comments from Rohal in past interviews about his childhood -- that the story relates in some way to the Boy Scouts.
